For this shoot, I chose a custom design cosplay styling for Elysia, with both the costume and location carefully selected and prepared. The main setting chosen was a cherry blossom grove location photoshoot in full bloom. Although the cherry blossom season brings heavy foot traffic, to keep the background clean, we used a telephoto lens with a wide aperture to blur the background, rendering the pink blossoms into soft bokeh. For styling, I chose a pink-to-white gradient wig paired with elf ears to enhance the character's otherworldly, non-human feel. The outfit boasts rich structural details, such as off-the-shoulder ruffle designs, chest straps, lace, and pearl beading on the skirt hem. The lightweight chiffon fabric offers a subtle translucent effect under light, unifying the overall palette in soft tones of pink and white.

We prepared two props for the shoot: a flute-shaped staff with tassels, and a patterned round fan. Though different in style, the flute and round fan created a unique visual effect beneath the gentle pink tones. Controlling the position of flowering branches posed quite a test during shooting; for better composition, one photo intentionally used a branch extending from the right as a foreground element. For post-processing, the main task was unifying the pink foundation of the image and softening highlights to ensure natural skin and fabric textures without overexposure. To best present the character, we avoided complex distortion effects in post, focusing on restoring costume details and overall mood.

Looking back at this shoot, the greatest joy of custom design cosplay lies in combining diverse elements according to personal preference—retaining core character traits while exploring fresh styling aesthetics. The skirt hem of this outfit is quite voluminous, creating a dynamic flow while walking under the cherry blossom trees; even without full-body shots, the half-body portraits clearly display the skirt's layering and craftsmanship. Furthermore, custom styling opens up creative possibilities for costume pairing, such as blending this Western-style dress with a Chinese-style round fan for a surprisingly harmonious visual effect. The weather during the shoot was also just right—free from harsh direct sunlight, the diffused soft light matched the pink theme perfectly, lending a luminous clarity to the entire frame.
