This shoot features Kiana as Herrscher of Finality from Honkai Impact 3rd, the ultimate favorite hero I've always wanted to recreate. For this shoot, I spent over half a month preparing from start to finish. Especially regarding the outfit details: the black-and-purple gradient flowers on the chest and skirt hem, though gorgeous, are very delicate, requiring extreme care when dressing and undressing. The neckline design is quite unique; pairing the white collared shirt with intricate neck accessories was confusing at first, taking quite some time studying before getting it right.

The wig is silver-white and very long; to convey the signature fluffy volume of Herrscher of Finality, it had to be curled strand by strand with a curling iron. The ahoge on top was particularly tricky to style, only standing up properly after generous coats of setting hairspray, and I had to make sure wearing the metal crown wouldn't obstruct my vision. The white boots have very stiff soles, making prolonged standing quite tiring on my feet, but I had to endure it for the overall proportions.

The garment structure is complex, with numerous layers of straps and lace on the upper body alone. The outfit features a daring design with less fabric over the chest; it felt a bit chilly when first putting it on, but once adjusted, the styling felt very faithful to the character design. The wide corset belt needed to be cinched very tightly to slim the waist, making breathing somewhat difficult, but it was well worth it for the photos. The straps on the legs and the drape of the skirt were highlights; when taking mirror selfies, I deliberately angled the shot to show off the leg lines, aiming to capture the essence of the character.

The greatsword prop takes up considerable space, and with the dorm room already compact and set against green cabinets, minor background clutter during full-body shots was inevitable. However, this shoot was mainly about documenting a daily state, as authentic shooting environments often hide within real life. To simulate the imposing combat readiness of the character, I held the greatsword and tested several angles. There were also clutter items on the storage rack to the left of the dorm, which I did my best to avoid during the shoot.

The close-up was intended to highlight the purple colored contacts and intense gaze. Because the wig partially covered the face, the eyes relied heavily on makeup for vitality; I layered several shades of eyeshadow blending and put on the colored contacts to make the gaze look sharper and more lethal. Shooting close-ups places higher demands on lighting; fortunately, the dorm overhead light helped illuminate facial contours.

Participating in the Honkai Impact 3rd Creator Incentive Program this time, I wanted to recreate the character in the most authentic state. Although dorm cabinets cannot simulate in-game scenes, standing in front of the mirror fully dressed gave me a profound sense of achievement. Herrscher of Finality is not only powerful but also carries a uniquely cool and serene presence, making the attempt to emulate her demeanor very enjoyable. The weight of the equipment is something you only truly understand once wearing it; with every step, you hear the clinking of metal accessories—an immersion impossible to experience just by looking at pictures.

Because the outfit is heavy, I started sweating after wearing it for about an hour or two; while the material is breathable, wearing the full set still felt stuffy. While snapping photos, I had to keep checking whether gear had shifted. For instance, the purple translucent material on the gloves easily catches dust, so I had to be careful not to touch the cabinets. This was doing my best to recreate the 2D character within limited conditions. Although there aren't many finished shots yet, this head-to-toe preparation deepened my understanding of Honkai Impact 3rd and its character. Putting on the outfit required someone to help adjust the back straps, as operating alone would be extremely time-consuming. Posing in front of the mirror took a long time to align the best angle. Overall, it was a very fulfilling experience.
