This time, I cosplayed Ning Rongrong from Soul Land. As the young mistress of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, the character sets high demands for both demeanor and costume craftsmanship. To capture the layering of the outfit, I put substantial thought into the fabrics. The outer blue dress was crafted with subtle jacquard patterns, giving off a fine shimmering sheen under natural outdoor sunlight; finding the right light significantly elevated the fabric's rich texture. The cuffs featured voluminous white tulle ruffles that frame the face to make it look petite, though they tend to curl at the edges and required careful smoothing before shooting. The silver ornament on the chest is the soul of this outfit, adorned with teardrop-shaped blue beads that perfectly echo the blue contacts. To prevent this accessory from skewing, I pinned it securely at multiple points from behind, taking care to avoid bumping into hard objects when bending over or walking. The dark blue waist sash was made of leaf-textured fabric, cleanly outlining the waist when cinched. The skirt features an irregular polygon hem trimmed with semi-sheer wavy white edges and lined with a diamond pattern, which holds a crisp, structured flare when lifted—extremely faithful to the original design.

The wig was light brown, long and straight; to recreate the twin braided look, I added supplemental braids myself, spending nearly an hour smoothing everything out. The headpiece is an exquisite silver ice-crystal tiara that required numerous bobby pins to firmly secure on top, which was quite a test of patience. In terms of makeup, the blue contacts were essential, paired with pink-purple blending and fine shimmer to make the eyes look remarkably large. The base makeup was kept fair to embody a poised, aristocratic young miss, finished with a subtle, non-intrusive soft red lip.

The shoot took place at the outdoor plaza of an Anime convention. In the background, there were skilled photographers handling reflectors and people queuing with cameras, creating a lively atmosphere. To achieve a clean background, we constantly sought angles that avoided passersby while utilizing ground reflectors for fill light. Wearing White stockings, the skirt-lifting pose in the third photo perfectly revealed the leg lines while letting the silhouette of the dress fully unfold, creating a more majestic visual. In truth, lighting makes a massive difference for this outfit. The afternoon side-backlight was ideal, capturing the translucency of the skirt hem while making the chest beads and hair accessories sparkle brilliantly. Although maintaining poses and watching the skirt position was tiring, bringing the character to life and capturing these beautiful photos made it thoroughly rewarding.

The color coordination of this costume is meticulously thought out; next time, I might consider shooting in a windy or special-effects setting. Overall, this cosplay deepened my understanding of Ning Rongrong. The dress tailoring is quite unforgiving—requiring a slender waist and enough presence to carry the full skirt gracefully. Walking around the Anime convention floor, many people called out 'the young miss of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan,' which made the immersive atmosphere truly special. The White stockings worn during the shoot remain hidden normally and only reveal their refined charm when the skirt is lifted, acting as a clever accent of the look. Despite sweating a lot that day, the refreshing blue palette kept the overall visual clean and translucent. For anyone who loves this costume, the natural outdoor texture feels far more grounded and authentic than a studio shoot.
