Putting on Tsuyuri Kanao's outfit and standing under the wisteria makes me feel like I instantly entered the world of Demon Slayer. This time, I tried out Doubao AI background replacement, and the results truly exceeded expectations. The original convention photo background was a bit cluttered, but replacing it with a massive field of cascading purple flowers and falling petals instantly maxed out the overall atmospheric feel.
The essence of Kanao's character lies in her quiet and slightly aloof temperament, so I didn't do any overly exaggerated poses during the shoot. I mainly held the Nichirin Sword or sat relaxed on a tree branch, trying my best to stay close to her usual state of observing more than expressing. The white cape paired with black hair looks very clean against the purple background. The blue butterfly prop in my hand was also carefully chosen, hoping to recreate a touch of the gentleness and quietness that belongs to Kanao.
Among these photos, my favorite is the one where I stand in front of the flowering branches holding the sword with both hands; the composition is quite upright, and the gaze is captured just right. The one where I am sitting and leaning against a branch also feels great, oozing a naturally relaxed everyday vibe. Although the background was replaced by AI, the character's clothing details and expressions are fully preserved without any major distortion. For cosplayers who want to get photos out quickly but are limited by the shooting environment, this kind of assistant tool is indeed an excellent new attempt.
This costume and hairstyle turned quite a few heads at the convention, though running around outdoors all day in platform shoes and complex clothing was indeed a bit tiring. But seeing the final presentation, I feel all the trouble of the day was completely worth it. Characters' outfits in Demon Slayer have many details—the subtle patterns on the white haori, the belt buckle, the wrapping cord of the Nichirin Sword—recreating them bit by bit gives a huge sense of accomplishment. Today's output of these convention photos can be considered a small summary of my performance as Kanao.
