When shooting this Gongsun Li Hello Kitty Star skin set, what troubled me most was actually the gaze. I am usually not good at winking; forcing my eye shut looked rather stiff, so during photo retouching this time, I tried editing the picture into a closed-eye expression. My editing skills are quite amateurish, and seeing the edited traces made even myself laugh. This outfit is self-styled: choosing a light blue shirt paired with matching lace-trimmed shorts brings a particularly refreshing summer vibe. The shirt fabric is semi-translucent sheer tulle, with ruffled folds at the collar and cuffs, while the white bunny patch on the chest is the finishing touch. The lace shorts below are paired with pink ribbons and leg rings, which, combined with the pink ribbons and pink hair, give the entire styling energetic charm while retaining the adorable temperament of the Star skin. For props, the transparent umbrella with bunny patterns and the waffle ice cream model significantly elevated the summer vacation feel of the scene.
For hair and makeup, the thick pink braids, top knot bun, and bunny ear headband were all highlights. The contours of eyebrows and eyeshadow were meticulously refined, matching colored contacts and peachy blush to soften the overall color palette. While shooting, figuring out how to pose on the chair was also a challenge. Beyond showcasing waistlines and the extended lines of legs, keeping the gaze focused was essential—pointing a finger at my cheek like this and interacting via gaze or expression is a very effective pose. With the blue-and-white stripes and wooden chair in the background, the light blue Summer outfit blends seamlessly into the environment, making it easier to capture a translucent texture.
Preparing the costume, makeup, and props for this shoot was no easy task. For a summer outdoor shoot, a lot of effort went into makeup longevity and wig styling. From initial resistance to winking to carefully capturing every gaze and movement, the process brought far more joy.
