With only two days left until Nilou's birthday, I rushed today to organize this special set of photos themed around the 'Forest Blessing'. The makeup and styling this time focus on a natural, dreamy feel, recreating that elf-like aura from the Dance of the Seven Veils.
Wearing the black horns on the headpiece required a lot of patience—they needed to be secure while remaining aesthetically pleasing when moving my head. The red wig was specifically made long and fluffy this time, which, paired with the gemstone details on the headpiece, showed beautiful luster under the sunlight. To complement this exotic character, I tried several layering styles before finalizing the eye makeup; the slightly upturned outer corners of the eyes adorned with glitter give the whole look a more mysterious yet approachable vibe.
The shooting process was actually quite a test of physical stamina. This outfit has many layers of tulle that easily get messy with even a little movement, but to achieve a visually lightweight and flowing effect, we just had to take more shots and constantly adjust my positioning. Special thanks go to the set designer for creating an indoor forest scene that looks like a glass conservatory. The lines of cascading plants combined with the backlight truly made me feel like I was deep in the forest. When the sunlight filtered through the blinds and arched windows onto the tulle skirt, the warm golden light and shadow felt as if it possessed its own magic.
For the second set shot against a solid-colored relief wall, we intentionally chose a warmer color temperature to bring out a nostalgic feeling. Holding a few light-colored fresh flowers paired with a vintage crystal lamp by my side, this scene seemed to create a wonderful cross-dimensional clash with the character's background as an exotic dancer. Actually, whenever doing an outdoor shoot, what takes the most time is finding the light and adjusting angles. I personally love the clear and natural texture of this set; no excessive skin smoothing was done in post-processing, preserving the original skin texture and details of light and shadow.
I hope Nilou can also receive these real blessings in the forests of Teyvat. The photographer's control over angles and atmosphere was spot on, especially catching that split-second look back—it's so dynamic, looking as if she's about to start that iconic Dance of the Seven Veils the next second.
