The convention photos from Day 1 of the Dreamland Anime Convention are finally out, and I've selected a blue and white porcelain-themed look that I'm very satisfied with. The design inspiration for this outfit combines classic Chinese blue and white porcelain elements with Altria's own knightly aura. The blue and white patterns printed on the lightweight fabric offer just the right amount of drape and flow.
The cutout tailoring on the sides of the waist and the halter neckline preserve the character's traits while incorporating modifications from modern aesthetics, making the overall visual effect cleaner and more refreshing. The wig is the iconic blonde updo everyone is familiar with, and the ahoge on top of my head was also styled into place. When the wind blew during the shoot, it swayed dynamically, full of life. A slender hand-held prop replaces the traditional sword, which, paired with the wide sleeves resembling water sleeves, allows for many graceful and extended movements.
This photoshoot took place indoors at the convention venue, utilizing the overhead matrix lighting to create a cool-toned metallic texture that contrasts with the gentle warmth of the blue and white porcelain. Post-processing preserved the skin texture without excessive smoothing. For the stance, a dynamic balance with one leg lifted was adopted. Paired with white tights and platform shoes, it elongates the leg lines, while the fluttering direction of the sleeves perfectly echoes the body.
Going out for a convention photoshoot actually puts one's physical stamina and impromptu performance to the test every time. From putting on makeup in the morning to shooting in the afternoon, constant adjustments to details are required. I'm very grateful to the friends who helped me adjust my wig and props that day, as well as the photographer who captured my dynamic moments. I have cosplayed characters from the Fate series many times, but switching to a different themed costume brings a brand-new experience every time. I hope to bring even more varied spin-off styles to future conventions.
