This shoot brought to life a Beach swimwear custom design for Aglaea from Honkai: Star Rail. Since this was an original interpretation rather than a strict recreation of canon attire, I chose lightweight, breezy sheer fabrics tailored to a summer seaside vibe. To accentuate the character's signature elegance, the wardrobe paired a pale yellow swimsuit with a long ruffled cover-up. The ocean breeze was formidable on the shoot day, turning the task of keeping the sheer chiffon from whipping across my face into quite a technical challenge. For the standing pose in Photo 2, I opened my arms wide to let the wind billow the mantle fully; this gave the framing a fluid, expansive reach while showcasing leg lines and overall body proportions cleanly, with centered placement ideal for a cover.
Working with photographer Ruda involved constant angle micro-adjustments. The bright coastal sun and shimmering water formed a breathtaking backdrop, though highlights risked blowing out easily. We paid careful attention to reflector placement to ensure balanced, soft fill across both facial features and body lines. Across the legs, semi-sheer White stockings paired with clear high-heeled sandals yielded a gorgeous luster in direct sunlight. The floral collar necklace and the garter band encircling the right thigh served as foundational styling details, preserving the heroine's iconic visual motifs while infusing refreshing summer charm. Sparkling water ripples complementing the sheer fabric textures elevated the final results far beyond initial expectations.
To freeze the exact moment ocean waves crashed ashore, I posed repeatedly along the damp sands, collecting plenty of gritty sand underfoot; yet this coastal mood truly breathed fresh vitality into the persona. While custom interpretations naturally diverge from canon, this set strived to honor her elegant, aloof glamour while embracing the graceful, alluring warmth of summer swimwear.
