"Doctor, beneath our feet lies a long, arduous road." Every time I recite this line, I feel as though I draw a step closer to Amiya. For this Arknights Amiya Outdoor shoot, we deliberately selected a setting rich with spatial perspective and depth. Today, I want to share the creative journey behind this photoshoot from a first-person perspective.

First, let's talk about the styling. The wig chosen was long brown hair with subtle ombre tips, while the bunny ears atop the crown served as the absolute soul of the entire ensemble. To give the fur texture an organic flow, I combed and set it thoroughly beforehand. For eye cosmetics, bright azure contact lenses paired with cool-toned eyeshadow aimed to recreate that crystal-clear yet unwavering gaze Amiya maintains despite facing countless trials. Attire-wise, an oversized black overcoat layered over a white pleated blouse, accented with a blue neckerchief and vivid electric-blue lining, created striking color contrast and rich depth. Below, a blue-and-black plaid pleated skirt paired with sheer Black stockings and chunky black platform loafers preserved the character's academic aesthetic while aligning seamlessly with modern streetwear styling. The bouquet of white blooms held in hand was arranged spontaneously right before shooting, unexpectedly offering a stunning visual counterpoint against the cool gray tones of the escalator.

The shooting location was scouted on an outdoor public escalator. The mechanical lines of the escalator inherently guide the eye forward, seamlessly echoing the 'long road' motif from the post description. During the actual shoot, safety remained paramount. While the final selects appear composed, perching on metal escalator steps in platform shoes—balancing and keeping facial expressions steady—required intense core engagement. For the seated shot, I continually recalibrated my center of gravity on the steps to let the Black stockings cross with natural grace, refining the angle of the floral bouquet multiple times to find the most relaxed cadence. Utilizing outdoor ambient daylight, I kept my face turned toward the light source, leveraging reflections from escalator glass panels and stainless steel trims to maximize visual clarity and transparency.

Capturing animated gestures like finger guns or extending open arms aimed to break through the somber gravitas typical of Amiya's story canon, showing glimpses of the playful vitality she harbors off-duty. In brief moments between escalator transits, the photographer captured rapid candid bursts, freezing these fleeting expressions. For profile shots along the handrails, the oversized coat silhouette easily threatened to look bulky, requiring belt adjustments and angled stances to cinch the waistline. The sheer blue lining billowed with every step—a kinetic grace static photos can rarely fully convey—prompting us to fire the shutter repeatedly going up and down the escalators. Regarding props, while this bouquet of white flowers isn't an in-game weapon, I saw it as an emotional anchor symbolizing Amiya's unyielding heart across her interminable journey.

Executing 2D outdoor shoots is genuinely exhausting—especially holding balance on escalators and continually pacing up and down. Yet seeing the breeze lift the overcoat hem, setting the blue lining and Black stockings into high contrast under the daylight, made every ounce of fatigue worthwhile. Every cosplay feels like a conversation that bridges dimensions. Donning this attire is far more than an external shift; it is an immersion into the character's inner conviction. Amiya's steadfast grit and courage before an uncertain horizon were the emotional core I sought to channel throughout. No flamboyant acrobatics were needed—merely standing there, gazing into the lens, was enough to convey the gravity of her presence. I hope everyone loves these moments of light and shadow captured on the escalator.
