This shoot took place in a courtyard where hydrangeas were in full bloom, a sea of flowers known as "Endless Summer". The props team put a lot of heart into it; the vintage book nearby and the goldfish swimming in the glass bowl added a touch of life and narrative to the entire scene. To match the character setting of Everson, I intentionally adjusted the makeup tones. The cool-gray wig paired with the light blue neck accessory formed a soft resonance with the surrounding pink and blue interwoven hydrangeas. The material of the white gauze dress is light and translucent, which beautifully outlines the silhouette under natural light, making it easy to strike various relaxed poses on the woven bamboo lounge chair.
During the shoot, the focus was on capturing the exact moments of flipping through the pages and looking up to lock eyes—these casual states are often much more natural than deliberate posing. It's worth mentioning that the flower bushes on-site were highly layered. To avoid a cluttered frame, a higher camera angle was chosen to separate the figure from the flower clusters through foreground and background blurring. The overall color tone preserves a slight film vibe, hoping to recreate that cool yet gentle elf temperament.
Although wearing a simple gauze dress, maintaining an elegant sitting and lying posture on the bamboo slates still requires a bit of core control. This combination of styling and scene is one of my more satisfying recent attempts, successfully fusing the refreshing feel of a 2D character with a natural flower wonderland for this Elf cosplay.
