[Elysia Cosplay] Sprig of the Past, Eternal Romance

Today, this new set of Elysia Cosplay photos is finally finalized and released.

Before the shoot, our team spent a long time preparing the scene around the theme of 'Sprig of the Past', eventually selecting this studio backdrop with white pillars and purple-pink floral clusters to recreate that ethereal aesthetic balancing illusion and reality. The fresh white roses in hand were specially prepared—compared to dried flowers, fresh blooms certainly exhibit far more lively luster on camera.

For hair and makeup, we used a pinkish-purple wig, carefully adjusting the curvature of the bangs and sideburns to better frame the face. For contact lenses, I chose highly saturated blue lenses, while the eye makeup was blended with pink tones; combined with the overall fair foundation, the visual effect came much closer to 2D anime textures for this Anime cosplay.

In the costume department, the purple ribbon bow at the collar and the jewel brooch served as the visual focal point of this styling. To enhance the sheen, a textured satin fabric was chosen for the bow. The color blocking of purple and white fabrics created a sharp contrast, which, paired with the black-and-gold ornaments on the shoulders, gave the entire look both an ethereal grace and a touch of opulence. The over-the-knee socks cosplay design, set off by dark tall boots, nicely flattered the leg lines while giving standing poses a more three-dimensional silhouette.

Regarding the shoot, we used softboxes paired with purple-pink color gels to create a dreamy ambient glow in this Cosplay photography session. A large sweep of purple satin fabric draped across the floor echoed the floral backdrop, setting a romantic tone for the entire composition. When guiding poses, the photographer deliberately had me tilt my head and gaze diagonally upward to capture that slightly melancholic yet affectionate look.

Cosplaying is never just about putting on an outfit and clicking the shutter; it requires digging deep into the narrative resonance of the character. Elysia from Honkai Impact 3rd possesses strong, distinctive traits—she is both gentle and powerful—so when holding the white roses, the tension in my fingers and the posture of my arms had to be controlled just right without appearing stiff. I also consciously adjusted the angle of my shoulders to define the collarbone lines, which, combined with the way the purple satin draped over my legs, aimed to create the illusion of flowing in the breeze.

During retouching, we avoided excessive skin smoothing, preserving natural skin texture and authentic light and shadow, focusing instead on color harmony so the purple main tone and the pure white of the roses formed a vivid, complementary balance that makes the image lasting and engaging.

However, there were also practical challenges, such as keeping the white roses fresh. Because they were fresh flowers, the petals began wilting after a few hours, so we actually shot this set quite swiftly. We completed the primary shots in under two hours while the flowers were at their peak. If anyone wants to shoot a similar white rose theme in the future, I recommend chilling the flowers in the fridge beforehand and taking them out right before shooting to preserve their condition.

Cleaning up after the shoot—clearing away purple color powder and stray wig fibers—was indeed a bit tedious, but seeing the final photos made every bit worth it. While this set may lack massive, flashy special effects, this clean and aesthetic style stays closest to my understanding of the character. As a cosplayer, bringing a conceptual visual vision to life through the power of a photography team is an immensely fulfilling achievement.
