This time, I cosplayed Ellen Joe from Zenless Zone Zero, also commonly known as the shark girl. To restore the character's cool and lazy temperament, a heavy industrial style port at night was specially chosen as the shooting location. The red and blue color-blocking lights and metal trusses perfectly fit the cyber atmosphere of New Eridu in the game. On the costume, the focus was placed on adjusting the pattern of the black and white maid dress; the layering of the skirt hem and the metal chain buckles stayed as close to the setting as possible. The reverse bangs of the wig and the shark-teeth hair ornament on top of the head also had their details confirmed repeatedly. The biggest challenge was actually that giant chainsaw weapon; its weight and volume are quite exaggerated. During the shoot, I had to balance the weapon-holding posture with facial expression management, needing to look at ease without letting the prop throw off my center of gravity. Due to the shooting angles and costume blockage, the tail section wasn't fully displayed, but the overall texture was actually quite on point. Night view shoots place high demands on lighting; two continuous lights were used on-site to coordinate with the ambient light, which toned down the red overexposure of the background while retaining the three-dimensional look of the face. A lot of thought went into this set of photos, from prop production to scenery composition, hoping to present that contrast feel of Ellen Joe being a 'slacking-off part-timer' yet boasting explosive combat power.
