[Ellen Joe cosplay] Victoria Housekeeping Co., Always at Your Service

A lot of thought went into everything from styling to props for cosplaying Ellen Joe from Zenless Zone Zero. As the top combat force of Victoria Housekeeping Co., this black battle-dress maid outfit combines the elegance of everyday duties with a strong tactical feel. The black-and-white design accented with red, paired with real leather straps and metal buckles, gives an immediate sense of high character fidelity the moment you put it on. In particular, the white spiked maid headband on top—while seemingly light—actually had to be secured very tightly to maintain clean lines during shooting. The hairstyle was also carefully styled: black hair streaked with a touch of reddish-purple, neat straight bangs, and red contact lenses that make the gaze look deeper and coolly detached.

What left the deepest impression on me during this photoshoot was the massive weapon. The broad silver blade with serrated edges and striking red mechanical parts at the guard carried serious physical weight. Holding it in combat stances definitely required arm strength. During the shoot, to capture her effortless, slightly lazy fighting stance, the photographer and I constantly fine-tuned hand grips and body angles. For example, in the full-body ground shot where my left hand braced against the floor, my right hand held the greatsword horizontally outward, and my left leg stretched straight to highlight the tension of the black tights outfit and black high heels—this pose tested core strength, but the final photo made every effort completely worthwhile. The greatsword was much bigger than expected, and fitting it in frame without unwanted background clutter while keeping proportions balanced truly tested the photographer's composition skills.

The location was another major highlight of this client shoot. Retro red brick walls, bookshelves packed with manga and VHS tapes, an entire wall stacked with vintage CRT TVs, and a glowing "GAME OVER" neon sign on the desk—these intertwined retro and cyber elements fit the character's vibe perfectly. Under the dim ambient lighting with blue and red neon glows, the character's red pupils stood out brilliantly, perfectly capturing that cold yet professional attitude.

Beyond combat poses, interacting with props added plenty of fun. For instance, hugging the big-eyed blue plush shark created a cute contrast between a tough maid warrior and a soft plush toy. Posing beside a vintage red rotary telephone with a red lollipop revealed her casual, rebellious side in daily life. This personality contrast is especially captivating; while posing, I deliberately channeled a cool, detached look that still held onto professional standards—never looking overly fierce, yet maintaining that subtle sense of intimidation.

The details of this outfit are truly worth appreciating. Beyond the leather and rivet accents on the belt and skirt, the serrated silver-grey metal bracers on the wrists are key to boosting the imposing presence. Paired with lightweight black pantyhose and high heels, the silhouette looks sleek and elongated in the frame. Being a member of Victoria Housekeeping Co., whether tidying manga on bookshelves or holding stacked game cartridges, every movement had to preserve a calm, effortless elegance. Although the props were heavy, the shooting process was thoroughly enjoyable. Immersing myself in this urban fantasy game world and experiencing the character's whimsical routine of switching between slaying monsters and doing housework was a truly fascinating adventure. I look forward to capturing even more diverse visual moments in this look. The lighting on the day was fantastic as well—the gaffer specifically added cool white side-lighting to trace the metallic texture of the weapon and bracers, complementing the warm background lights to create a powerful atmosphere for our cosplay photography.
