Ever since I got this Elysia Miss Pink Elf outfit, I've wanted to do a proper shoot with it, and today I've finally put together a record of all the makeup and accessory details. For the hair, I used a pink-and-white gradient wig. The accessories on top of the head are incredibly rich, including small white wings, scattered pearls, and sporadic floral embellishments. The cross hairpin at the front and the fine glitter reflect beautifully under the lights. To capture that dreamy girly style, I put a lot of thought into securing the headpiece so it wouldn't shift during the shoot.
As for the costume, the main visual focus lies in the white feathered wings on the shoulders, as well as the purple bow and bells on the chest. This dress utilizes a gradient fabric with a pearlescent finish, transitioning from pure white to a purplish-pink tone, reflecting different layers of color depending on the angle of the light. The fixing of the bow tie and the positioning of the waist bells required repeated adjustments to avoid looking bulky or misaligned. The white ribbon ties at the wrists are also an important detail that enhances the youthful charm.
For the makeup design, the core is to embody the character's playful and airy temperament. For the eyes, I paired it with grayish-purple colored contacts to deepen the gaze, combined with a slightly elongated eyeliner to make the entire eye makeup look more spirited. The blush is applied under the eyes toward the front, which helps create a youthful look that fits the overall cute atmosphere. For the lips, I chose a clear and glossy lip glaze to keep the makeup look clean and bright.
When it came to posing guidance during the Anime cosplay shoot, I didn't want to force any overly exaggerated poses, preferring instead to express a natural interaction. For instance, a gentle lifting of the arm paired with a lively and vivid gaze is enough to showcase the character's inherent charm. Revealing the lines of the shoulders and arms also beautifully echoes the off-the-shoulder cut of the dress, concentrating the visual focus on the upper body.
Controlling the lighting angles on-site was quite demanding, as the pink wig and white base outfit can easily overexpose and lose details under harsh light. This time, I deliberately adjusted the position of the softbox cloth to preserve the texture of the hair and the embroidered lace details on the dress as much as possible, giving the image a more solid quality. The intricate accessories of this look posed a major challenge, requiring multiple adjustments during the shoot to prevent the hairpieces from snagging the tulle of the dress. However, the final photos turned out quite well and met my expectations, making the long preparation beforehand completely worth it as part of my Coser daily life.
