[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Hymn of Flower and Bud: An Aesthetic Photo Collection of a Dreamy Elf Fairy

This outfit setting of Elysia from Honkai Impact 3rd under the Hymn of Flower and Bud theme is exceptionally well-suited for a dreamy-style studio shoot. Today, I'm finally sharing the refined official set with everyone.

The equipment used for this shoot was a Sony A7M5 paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II, utilizing a wide aperture throughout the entire studio session. Elysia's outfit features a very gentle overall palette of light purple, white, and pale pink. To highlight this ethereal fairy aura, we employed high-key soft lighting in the studio setup, utilizing a large softbox from the front-side angle to minimize harsh shadows and keep the skin tone looking translucent and fair. Furthermore, because both the veil and the dress are made of multi-layered sheer tulle, a bit of highlight bloom actually adds a spiritual, dreamlike visual effect.

Let's discuss the styling details first. The gradient pink wig combined with elf ears, a floral crown stacked with layers of light-colored roses, and a cascading white veil gives the entire head area a rich sense of layering. The purple bow at the neckline features a star-shaped ornament, and the small golden-bronze bells underneath sway gently with movement. The dress features an off-the-shoulder design; the off-shoulder cut combined with skirt-hems on both sides that resemble little wings makes posing easy without feeling overly heavy. The sleeves are voluminous and made of iridescent fabric that gleams with a mother-of-pearl luster under the studio lights. The skirt flare is composed of multiple pieced layers, with a glitter and lace petticoat inside and a finely textured chiffon tulle on the outside. The purple bow at the waist echoes the ribbons on the skirt, and the overall tailoring seamlessly blends the grandeur of a wedding dress with the lightweight agility of 2D costumes.

Props were another focal point of this shoot. The glowing pink lotus held in my hand was truly the finishing touch. Its brightness is quite high, so when shooting close-ups, we needed to adjust the camera's exposure compensation slightly or blend in a bit of ambient light to balance the light sources, preventing the colored light of the prop from interfering too harshly with my face. The bouquet of white roses and the extensive artificial flower sea of blue, pink, and white on the floor beautifully enriched the frame's colors, perfectly echoing the theme: \"May all the footprints you leave behind bloom with a hundred flowers.\"

Designing the poses for this photo collection actually took quite a lot of effort. The photo where I am lying amidst the flowers on the floor (which is also the cover image) was actually the most exhausting shot of the entire session. Because the skirt is very puffy, completely spreading out the skirt flare into a fan shape on a floor full of faux flowers while maintaining a natural posture required an assistant outside the frame to help adjust the edges of the skirt pleats and the position of the petals to make it look effortless. However, in the final shot, this low-angle composition paired with white stockings and high heels beautifully elongated my body proportions and showcased the character's unconstrained, pure, and sweet maidenly essence. The few shots featuring a backward glance and a crystal-holding perspective tested the extension and curvature of my arms, shoulders, and neck lines. Dropping the shoulders, slightly tucking the chin, and focusing my gaze directly on the lens allowed me to present the character's unique lightness and confidence.

This costume involves a lot of fabric layers, making it prone to wrinkling during the shoot—especially during sitting and lying movements, which required frequently standing up to tidy it. Thankfully, the studio lighting leaned toward a soft vibe, so the post-processing of fabric details didn't require excessive skin-smoothing. We only needed to adjust the luminance of the colors to keep the entire look in a dreamy, low-saturation state. The benefit of shooting with a Sony A7M5 is its excellent high-ISO performance; even in a soft-light environment, the shutter speed can be kept fast enough to capture the precise moments when the bells sway and the veil flutters, resulting in remarkably sharp details.
