[Elysia Cosplay] The Purple Dream of the Herrscher of Human in Honkai Impact 3rd

For this shoot of Elysia's Herrscher of Human styling, most of the pre-shoot preparation was dedicated to the layered details of the costume and faithful accessory recreation. The pink wig paired with silver-white headpieces and that long flowing veil carried noticeable weight when worn. To fit the character design, I chose a white sheer tulle dress and over-the-knee White stockings, paired with strapped high heels—a combination that beautifully showcases leg lines and dynamic skirt flow while walking.

The shooting environment was an indoor set draped in purple and pink curtains, richly decorated with semi-translucent pink-purple flowers and white Roman pillars. Throughout the shoot, I had to constantly adjust my poses; because the skirt's tulle is very sheer, lighting had to be precisely controlled to capture that luminous, translucent feel of light passing through the fabric. The photographer suggested standing sideways and turning my head back toward the camera, which allowed the tulle skirt silhouette to spread out while utilizing the high heels and White stockings to elongate body proportions, accentuating the visual impact of the legs.

The focus of photo retouching for this set was color harmony and smooth light-and-shadow transitions. To achieve a dreamy feel, post-processing darkened the surrounding environment, keeping the saturation and brightness of the purple-pink palette in a hazy, ethereal state to make the subject pop. In addition, white doves and classical carved elements in the set added depth to the composition. Shooting amidst the drapery in this outfit, combined with expressive body language, allowed for a better portrayal of her elegant and dignified presence.

When bringing 2D characters into real life for Anime cosplay, I always pay close attention to fabric drape and sheen, which creates wonderful chemistry even with simple backdrops. From makeup color blending to prop placement, this Herrscher of Human portrayal closely referenced the original design. Although the shoot was tiring—requiring me to maintain effortless-looking poses continuously—the final images resonate wonderfully with the overall ambiance and character personality. From reflector angles to the spreading of the skirt hem, ultimately achieving this dreamlike, sacred Aesthetic Portrait style made me very satisfied with the visual expression of this photo set.
