Walking into the Paradise Lost Studio (Changzhou Photography Studio) and seeing the pre-arranged dark red backdrop, I knew that today's Remilia photos had a clear direction. Before the formal shoot, I repeatedly confirmed the wig's color tuning, the emphasis of the headpiece, and the positioning of the red ribbon decorations on the white lace dress, striving to make every detail align with her character setting in Touhou Project.
The photos did not overly rely on post-processing effects but leaned more on the arrangement of on-site lighting. Under the red undertone, the top light and local rim lights highlighted the translucency of the skin tone while rendering the textures of the rose bouquets and vintage trunks more realistic. During the shoot, I intentionally nudged my expressions toward tsundere and mysterious, as this is the unique aura belonging to the master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The lace of this outfit was harder to manage than imagined, wrinkling easily if not careful, so constant adjustments were needed during shooting breaks. However, to present the gorgeousness expected of a vampire mistress, the patience in styling was absolutely worth it.
Paired with red roses, candlesticks, and a retro-styled chair, the square composition ultimately presented a strong sense of visual stability. From the initial conceptualization and searching for style references to communicating lighting angles with the photographer, every step aimed to depict the vivid image of this Lord of the Night. The character settings of Touhou Project are inherently full of plasticity, and this real-scene studio shoot maximized the charm of such settings, making it a highly fulfilling creation for this Cosplay photoshoot.
