This themed creative set of Eyjafjalla Cosplay from Arknights in "Dreamland" has finally arrived! Actually, ever since the "Until the Earth Turns into a Lime" project was announced, I had been brainstorming how to capture that whimsical yet subtly absurd, dreamlike atmosphere.
Costume-wise, this look features a classic color contrast of white and pink in a dress inspired by vintage classical fashion. The neckline is adorned with abundant pink ruffles and neck scarf decorations, accented by black linear accents and zipper details across the chest, while crisscross pink laces at the waist visually cinch the silhouette. The sleeves are semi-sheer puff sleeves finished with pink ruffled hems. To enrich the overall styling, I paired it with white platform high-top lace-up boots and knee-high White stockings featuring delicate pink bows at the cuffs. This combination not only elongates lower-body visual proportions, but also introduces a grounded, structured edge against the sweet aesthetic. The wide-brimmed hat serves as the crowning touch—styling and setting the curved horns on the sides took considerable time, and the wig required meticulous combing to maintain its airy volume.
The outdoor location was set on an open lawn. To match the Dreamland theme, we constructed a swing entwined with green vines and soft pink-and-white roses. The translucent tulle drapery on the left side of the swing was hand-crafted and added by me, hoping to introduce an airy, breathing delicacy. The white long-handled umbrella in my hands was also custom-tailored; the pink ruffled edges and red bows on the umbrella echoed the design elements of the dress flawlessly. During shooting, the swing's stability posed quite a test—we had to ensure the vines wouldn't catch or tangle with the wig while sustaining elegant postures.
The lighting that day was absolutely superb. We purposely waited until dusk to shoot; side-backlighting illuminated the edges of the hair strands, casting a warm golden glow across the lawn. Throughout the shoot, the photographer continuously guided my posing. Photo one captures a quieter, serene moment—hands folded gently across my lap, body leaning slightly forward. Photo two presents a more expansive posture—right hand raised to grasp the swing's vines, left hand resting before me, legs crossed naturally. This movement highlighted the flowing arc of the flared skirt while guiding the viewer's gaze toward the leg lines and the white platform boots. Because the second photo carries stronger dynamic energy and clearer garment details, I chose it as the cover image.
Shooting this outfit outdoors required attention to myriad details—such as the swing's balance, the drape of the skirt hem, and the snug comfort where high-top boots met the White stockings. To make the compositions feel more natural, I consulted with the photographer regarding focal lengths, using a wide aperture to blur the European-style architecture and woods in the background so the subject stood out vividly. For character styling infused with fantasy elements, the greatest challenge lies in making her feel not just superficially accurate in look, but as if she genuinely stepped out of the game world into reality.
Every outdoor photoshoot touched with fairy-tale whimsy demands extensive physical energy, but the moment I saw the final photos, everything felt completely worth it. I look forward to exploring more character archetypes and styles moving forward in my Arknights cosplay journey!
