[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Swimsuit Location Shoot, Full of Summer Refreshing Vibes

This solo Cosplay photoshoot of Arknights Amiya in her swimsuit outfit was shot by a sunny outdoor waterside in summer.

The most attractive part of this outfit is how it perfectly blends the character's signature elements—the rabbit ears and the scarf's color scheme—into a relaxed beach vacation style. The pink flowers and translucent white tulle on the straw hat, paired with the off-the-shoulder top featuring red and white striped details, provide both a refreshing summer feel and character recognizability. The rabbit ears on the edge of the straw hat are a very cute touch, looking full of life even under harsh light. To coordinate with the overall tone, I specially chose a blue-green choker and a matching thigh ring as color accents, breaking up the pink, white, and red color scheme of the upper body to make the leg lines and the visual focus of the waist clearer. The polka-dot insect-catching net in my hand and the cyan handbag added a touch of outdoor playfulness.

This set of photos was taken during the hottest part of the summer. In the outdoors of Chongqing cosplay, especially in places with large water features and coconut trees, the humidity is high and the sunlight is intense. What tests outdoor shooting the most is actually the control of light and shooting rhythm. The weather was great then, with very rich layers of blue sky and white clouds. To preserve the details of the sky and the background coconut trees while ensuring soft highlights on the subject's face, the photographer made many attempts at adjusting the exposure and ambient light. The white sand and light-colored water surface reflected heavily under strong light, and a little carelessness could cause the image to lose its layers. However, the final photos managed to maintain a bright summer feel while perfectly restoring the details of the skin tone and clothing. I feel that this slightly translucent color grading fits the fresh atmosphere that this swimsuit theme wanted to express even better.

Regarding the pose design, I didn't choose very exaggerated or complex postures, but instead focused more on natural states like casual beach walks, playing around, or getting ready to catch insects. Because the style of this outfit itself leans toward casual and relaxed, too much deliberate posing might ruin that laid-back vacation vibe. For instance, looking at the camera while holding the insect net, or the moment of lifting one leg to stride out of the water, were all intended to convey a casual, cozy summer afternoon state. The addition of the handbag also made the whole look more complete, as if I were truly spending a leisurely weekend afternoon at the beach.

Chongqing's summer light is very harsh. Unlike the soft, controllable indoor studio lighting, this outdoor natural light actually brought quite a challenge to the shoot. In pursuit of natural transitions of light and shadow, we walked back and forth on the beach many times to find angles that could avoid direct harsh light while utilizing water reflections for fill light. Such efforts were rewarded with real light and skin textures in the frame. Compared to post-processing retouching, I feel that this native light and shadow atmosphere is the most charming part of outdoor portraits.

During the process of shooting this Cosplay photoshoot, the real key to a successful photo wasn't just changing into this outfit, but finding the expression the character should have at this exact moment. I really love Amiya's vibe in this version—a bit innocent and earnest, yet completely relaxed and enjoying the sunshine. I was covered in sweat by the time we finished, but the moment I saw the proofs, that summer passion and the joy of the shooting process seemed to be frozen in these few photos.

So as the midsummer of 2026 has just passed and I look back at them now, the temperature and the surrounding environment of the shoot seem to come right back. To me, cosplay is not just about recreating a character, but using one's own lens language to create a summer memory belonging to her. Although it took a while to post this photo set, I believe good work never goes out of style. Being able to smoothly organize and share that brightness and freshness from the shoot again is something worth savoring. This photo set was also completed in collaboration with a local team, where everyone had a great aesthetic for light, shadow, and style, so I am very satisfied with the final result.
