As the theater curtain fell, I lifted my skirt and returned to the dressing room, the slender feather ornament on my head still swaying gently. Today, I'm sharing my Odette cosplay photoshoot from Genshin Impact.
The details of this outfit are exceptionally rich. The white plush texture along the collar forms a crisp contrast with the golden cutout embroidery on the bodice, while the sheer mesh base layer adds a touch of lightness to the overall silhouette. The sleeves feature a glossy bright blue fabric with geometric facets, paired with sheer navy gloves that not only enhance visual layering, but also guide hand contours beautifully during poses. The satin fabric of the skirt creates lovely reflections under the studio lights, which is why the light and shadow held such dimensional depth during the shoot.
For makeup, I chose purple-blue colored contacts to match the character closely. Pink-purple tones were softly blended across the eyelids, emphasizing the aegyo-sal and eyelashes to give my gaze added depth. The blue wig was carefully trimmed and styled, with bangs and sideburns tailored to frame my face, while the platinum and gem headpiece atop my head served as the crowning touch of the entire styling.
To capture that post-performance Afternoon tea ambiance, I prepared two sets of props. The first was a cake decorated with piped frosting and blackberries, and the second was a vintage rose-patterned teacup. Holding the teacup gracefully requires deliberate technique: keeping the wrist steady, shoulders relaxed, and finger joints supple, so that even through the semi-sheer gloves, an elegant curve shines through the fabric.
The shoot was held at Miku Studio—a vintage setting with brown leather sofas, crystal chandeliers, and deep crimson velvet drapes that perfectly complemented the costume's ornate splendor for this Retro studio photoshoot. While posing, I kept my core engaged and spine straight; although sitting throughout the shoot, holding this poised posture across several outfit changes left my back and waist noticeably sore.
In expression management, I leaned into restraint, avoiding overly cheerful expressions in favor of an aloof, tranquil composure to reflect the character's cool and elegant persona. When shooting the cake-eating sequence, the prop looked so deliciously exquisite that I nearly burst out laughing—the blooper reel was full of me trying to stifle giggles!
Pulling off an intricately detailed cosplay like this reinforced that costume craftsmanship sets the ceiling of an image, while body language breathes soul into the character. From wig styling to prop curation, every single step required thoughtful planning. When I sent the finished edits to friends, they remarked that this Cygnet look perfectly captured that nostalgic vibe of the theater stage after the curtain falls.
