The final photo set for this Genshin Impact Barbara Swimsuit cosplay is officially ready.

Before this shoot, I dedicated significant effort to preparing the props. The fabric for the blue-and-white sailor suit was chosen with great care to present a lightweight, breathable texture under direct sunlight. For the wig, I specifically selected light-toned curly twin tails and styled them with hairspray multiple times beforehand so they wouldn't scatter in the sea breeze. The little yellow duck bag is the true soul of this look; to make it stand out crisply on camera, I lined the inside with cardboard to maintain its structure.

The sun was blazing on the day of the shoot, and UV levels across the sand were intense. The sea breeze blew constantly; every time I locked in a pose, the skirt hem and wig would flutter uncontrollably. To capture a natural drape in still shots, the photographer had to press the shutter swiftly during lulls in the wind. Photo 1 shows me kneeling by the water holding a blue-striped swim ring. That swim ring was surprisingly heavy; holding it while tolerating incoming waves slapping against my legs and keeping my back upright severely tested my endurance and facial control. Photo 2 is a side-profile angle that perfectly accentuates the thigh ring on my hip and the layered frills of the skirt hem, creating a balanced color palette framed against the yellow duck bag and blue sky. Photo 3 features a dynamic backwards stance on one leg, raising one arm high while extending the other behind me. The energetic momentum of the day relies entirely on this shot; although I nearly lost balance keeping my core stabilized, the final body lines turned out relaxed and graceful.

For the makeup design of this outfit, the focus was placed on sheer translucence and vivid eye expression. The foundation was kept very light to emphasize the skin's natural glow. For the eyes, light blue color contacts were paired with subdued, soft eyeshadow to complement the sailor uniform and evoke a fresh, lively aura.

During post-processing, to preserve as much authenticity as possible, subtle adjustments were made to the sky and ocean color grading, purifying the contrast between blue and white and gently subduing the sand's brightness to accentuate the subject. Throughout editing, I took care to preserve the fabric's natural creases and the authentic beach lighting, avoiding any overly flat or plastic finish.

Stepping on the wet sand right after low tide was uncomfortable, with sand filling my shoes and toes. The swim ring had a hard plastic surface that felt sticky against the skin once I started sweating. I was practically running back and forth along the shoreline to find the ideal lighting angles. To capture an unobstructed ocean backdrop, the photographer positioned the camera extremely low, meaning sand easily ground into my knees whenever I knelt. Fortunately, the resulting photos showcase a comfortable lighting balance with natural harmony between the subject and the scenery.

This Beach photoshoot was a deeply fulfilling journey. Despite braving scorching sunshine and heavy winds, and having my costume drenched by seawater several times, capturing the character's genuine charm and exploring my own creative range made it all worthwhile. To me, immersing completely into a character's world and story for a dedicated shoot is always a profoundly valuable endeavor.
