[Focalors Cosplay] Genshin Impact Hydro Archon Theme: Sacred Sound Fan-Art in a Pure White Studio Set

I've had this Sacred Sound fan-art outfit for Focalors from Uwowo for a while now, but I hadn't found a suitable venue to shoot it. This time, I finally had the opportunity to arrange a studio set centered around that white upright piano, fulfilling my photoshoot dream of "spending 10,000 RMB on a piano for Furina to sit on" (of course, the piano belonged to the studio—if it really cost that much, my wallet would cry!). Jokes aside about buying a 10,000 RMB piano (which belonged to the studio owner anyway), this studio photoshoot experience was truly wonderful.

The makeup and styling focused on an icy, pure, and elegant vibe. The blue-and-white outer jacket and skirt hem were quite a test for the lighting, but thankfully the studio's softboxes elevated the overall texture. What satisfied me most about this outfit were the lightweight tulle layers and details, along with the golden crown piece on my head—wearing it not only made my head look smaller, but also elevated my whole aura. In particular, the fluffy white headpiece was the crowning touch when taking the chin-resting pose in Photo 1, making me look exceptionally gentle and delicate. The stitching on the skirt was very neat, and the collar and cuffs had special pleated treatments so they wouldn't collapse easily. This was super practical for a cosplay shoot requiring large movements, as the quality of the clothing instantly showed once the pose was struck.

The shoot came with quite a few challenges. Since the back design of this outfit is quite exposed, capturing nice back angles required repeatedly adjusting my shoulder posture and arm placement. The photographer was extremely dedicated, constantly guiding me to find the best angles throughout the process—especially for the glance-back pose in Photo 2, which needed to maintain the twist curve of my body while ensuring strong eye contact with the camera. Beyond these two photos, we also shot many compositions utilizing the piano keyboard and bench as foreground elements. However, the most comfortable overall composition was the front-facing seated shot in Photo 1, where the pose felt natural and the white piano bench perfectly matched the colors of the outfit.

Before shooting this set, I was a bit worried that a white baseline would make the entire photoset look too bland or overexposed. But after seeing the final results, I realized this high-key lighting perfectly highlighted the sacred aura of Furina cosplay and Focalors cosplay in Genshin Impact. The white leg straps and delicate lace high heels presented a clean, captivating layered feel under the white piano bench. I wore those socks and straps for a long time for these details, but for the final outcome, all that effort was worth it. The white harp and ironwork screen in the background filled the space nicely without making the frame look empty. Because it was high-key lighting, the placement of the reflector boards was very crucial to create contrast between light and shadow on the face, enhancing 3D dimensionality. Plus, the golden wire halo on top of my head, while easy to wear, required finding the right center of gravity so it wouldn't wobble side to side. When turning around in Photo 2, I had to pay special attention to keep this halo in the lens's focal plane to render a perfect circular shape.

Next, let's talk about some fun anecdotes during the shoot. Because there were many props to set up in the studio, including crystal chandeliers, birdcages, and even that piano, they actually took up a lot of space. As a cosplayer, striking relaxed poses within a limited space really required some flexibility. Then there were those leg straps—because they had to stay strapped around my legs for an entire day of shooting, there were visible marks on my legs after taking them off. But as a professional cosplayer, I think paying this price for details is a necessary sacrifice, since photography is all about presenting the most perfect side. Additionally, some golden bead chains on the legs, while pretty, easily snagged on the skirt, forcing me to be extremely cautious when sitting in Photo 1 to avoid tangling them on the edge of the bench.

Of course, there are always minor regrets on the path of cosplay, such as not having enough time that day to shoot more interactions with the white harp, as that angle really had a great artistic feel. But perhaps these blank spaces serve as motivation for the next shoot. I also hope my presentation comes as close as possible to players' beautiful imaginations of these characters—that noble yet playful, dynamic yet majestic aura. I hope everyone enjoys this studio set work. Though my hair got a bit flattened from wearing the crown for so long, and my base makeup became a bit delicate due to sweating, the moment frozen in the photo is my proudest moment as a cosplayer. Sorting through these photos and remembering the satisfaction of hearing the camera shutter click densely in the studio made everything feel completely worth it. Sometimes to manage facial expressions and stretch poses, OOC (out of character) moments are hard to avoid entirely, but I try my best to balance it and recreate the character's disposition through gaze and movement.

Overall, this photoshoot experience and final images met my expectations. Both the texture of this Sacred Sound fan-made outfit and the exquisite props in the studio set gave me many pleasant surprises. Saying I spent 10,000 RMB to buy a piano might have just been a joke, but the dedication to this shoot was definitely no less than any convention release.
