[Yixuan Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Trails of Ink: Challenging High-Intensity Convention Photos

This time I'm sharing convention photos of the Zenless Zone Zero Yixuan cosplay in her \"Trails of Ink\" outfit, shot at a spacious exhibition center. The event venue itself had heavy foot traffic; the busy backdrop of setup workers and attendees, combined with the unique triangular skylight structure on the ceiling and cool-toned indoor light, unexpectedly provided a unique industrial and cybernetic shooting atmosphere for these convention photos.

The costume design of \"Trails of Ink\" hides many subtle details. The glossy black leather material covering a large area of the upper body, paired with bright metal zippers and buckles, reflected layered highlights under the venue's overhead natural light. Although air conditioning was running, walking around in thick leather gear caused quite a bit of sweating. To stay faithful to the character, a short white wig and light-colored contact lenses were essential. I intentionally emphasized orange tones in the eye makeup to capture that aloof yet sharp feel on camera.

What satisfied me most in this cosplay photography shoot was actually the black metal folding ladder provided by the prop team. I chose to sit on it, letting one leg drop naturally while crossing the other over the front. This pose was not only to showcase the visual elongation created by white stockings and shiny black leather shoes, but also to allow my posture to relax against the bustling convention backdrop. The texture pairing of stockings and patent leather shoes created a soft-versus-hard contrast with the structured leather jacket. During the sequence, reaching out toward the camera created a composition that centered the focus on leg lines and leather sheen, while the background hall structure offered great depth of field.

The process of taking these photos tested our composure. Visitors and fellow fans constantly passed by, some stopping curiously to watch, alongside occasional chaotic light shifts. The photographer needed precise framing within the complex background, as overhead convention lights and window light looked striking yet carried harsh contrast. To achieve that translucent yet mysterious visual effect, we adjusted angles multiple times, letting natural light sweep across the leather fabric while preventing background clutter from overpowering the subject. The metal ladder I sat on was quite rigid; though the posture looked nonchalant, keeping core balance required constant abdominal engagement. Yet seeing the final result, the overall atmosphere was spot on, with cool-toned, high-contrast light and shadow outlining the outfit silhouette beautifully.

Creating story-driven convention photos in a noisy environment requires thorough preparation. Makeup must resist hours of sweat, and wigs need constant maintenance to stay fluffy and tangle-free. The unique collar design of \"Trails of Ink\" looked incredible on camera, though it slightly restricted neck movement during activity. Yet anime conventions hold a magical charm: once fully styled and immersed in this shared space with fellow fans, you step into character instantly. Sensing glances from around, that immersive unity with the character was the main driver supporting this shoot. The venue floor was polished mirror-smooth, reflecting shoes and legs neatly—an ideal environment for clean, crisp styles. Of course, I changed back into casual clothes immediately after, as walking around in leather gear all day demands serious stamina.
