[Vivian Cosplay] Deeply Loving Phaethon, Wearing the Chill and Warmth of Zenless Zone Zero

Regarding this Vivian cosplay look, advance prep for costuming, makeup, and props was much more complex than anticipated. First was recreating and styling the hair color—that cool-toned light purple-gray can easily look artificial or top-heavy in front of the lens if not handled carefully. During Cosplay photography, as light fell onto the hair, the subtle hair texture paired with the black bow headband and blue accent patterns at the top brought character recognition to its absolute max for this Anime recreation. Combined with red contact lenses and elf ears, the sharpness of facial features was elevated, but balancing that distant coldness with gentleness in the eyes was the hardest core challenge of this makeup styling.

The outfit features abundant details. The white shirt collar and cuffs feature ruffles, forming a wonderful visual contrast between soft elements and rigid black shoulder straps. In particular, that black leather corset with zipper and metallic buckle details feels heavy in hand, yet slims the waistline nicely when worn. Since shooting involved sitting poses, the leather material required good elasticity; wearing it for long periods created noticeable waist pressure, so shooting actions and pace had to be kept fairly tight. The bottom half consists of a layered black ruffled short skirt over a Black tights outfit across the thighs. Under bright studio lighting, this material presents a wonderfully rich luster, which, combined with sitting compositions, showcases leg lines to the maximum extent in the frame.

For the backdrop, we selected a pure white studio setup. A seemingly simple seamless white background actually demands extremely high lighting precision—a slight tilt of the light source completely alters reflections on the tights and leather belt. Holding both sides of the skirt hem in my hands allowed the layered skirt to flare out naturally through that tugging gesture, while also utilizing this subtle motion to guide visual focus toward the waist and legs. The gray plush toy beside me served as a great touch for the styling, neutralizing the industrial and mysterious aura of this outfit to bring out a relaxed, everyday ambiance.

The choker collar at the neck was another visual highlight, with that central purple gem reflecting deep luster under direct overhead lighting. Before shooting, I repeatedly adjusted the gem's angle to ensure it wouldn't lose detail from overexposure in camera while still presenting clear, three-dimensional reflections. The waist zipper and metal buckles formed the core texture, injecting strength into what was originally a sweet skirt outfit and echoing the character's calm, reserved nature from Zenless Zone Zero.

In truth, for cosplay, visual accuracy is merely a baseline standard; an even higher state is conveying the character's inner aura in front of the lens. Whether acting as her friend or lingering in her story with Phaethon, when shooting quiet characters like this during Cosplay photography, I prefer not forcing poses for the camera. Rather than overly displaying sexiness, using natural body language—like tilting my head up slightly or sitting composedly—creates that atmosphere of being slightly distant yet willing to pause for you. Every shutter click connects deeply with the character setup. Compiling this work aims to flawlessly convey Vivian's blend of distant coldness and gentle warmth through wardrobe, light, shadows, and overall atmospheric depth in this Anime recreation.
