While browsing through my hard drive, I found this set of Asuka photos that had been gathering dust at the bottom of a folder for ages. I kept forgetting to post them after shooting, so I thought I might as well share them now, almost like having shot a brand-new set. This is the classic White dress look of the Anime girl from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Makeup and styling were handled by Mingyou—large-diameter blue colored contacts paired with translucent blush and delicate under-eye makeup faithfully captured Asuka's blend of haughty stubbornness and subtle innocence. The shoot took place in the studio at Miyou Miaomiaowu, where the scene was decorated with white tulle and white flowers under very soft lighting. I especially love the full-body composition in the first photo, where the white skirt hem spreads across the sea of flowers, looking light, airy, and dreamy.
This outfit actually tests styling and wearing: the sheer white fabric is slightly see-through, so I had to be cautious during shooting and avoid overly large movements to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. The red bow tie, red hair accessories, and the red bow high heels on my feet popped vividly in the all-white setting, creating a gorgeous color contrast. We spent quite a bit of effort posing in the studio that day, especially for the elegant crossed-leg seated posture in the first photo, which required keeping my back straight and put quite a strain on my waist. The third photo's sideways, head-tilted pose aimed to convey a slightly melancholic demeanor, with the pearl necklace around the neck serving as a lovely accent.
Post-processing was handled by Bkaaaaa_, who joked that this was a 'weight-loss failed, heavy-editing' version, but she truly smoothed the lines gracefully and rendered the skin tone remarkably clean and translucent. The overall lighting was treated with highlights and backlighting, giving the subject a glowing aura and maximizing texture and atmosphere. Beyond retouching facial features and body contours, she also dedicated immense effort to handling background depth, preserving floral details while accentuating the translucency of the White dress. Although shooting was exhausting and my feet were sore the next day from wearing high heels the entire time, seeing the final texture made all the effort worthwhile. This photo set not only recreated Asuka's attire, but also captured her emotions in that specific scene as much as possible. Digging up these old photos felt like reliving the shooting process all over again—truly enjoyable.
