The styling and makeup for Theresa were exceptionally demanding on details right from the base. The long straight pink hair required very precise layered trimming, and the blunt bangs couldn't be too thick, or they would obstruct the emotion in the eyes. The black horns on either side of the crown were the paramount priority of the styling; being on the heavier side, they had to be secured to the underlying hair buns using prosthetic adhesive and transparent hairnets to ensure their position wouldn't shift even during side-profile shots. The placement of the diamond-shaped rhinestone above the eyebrow was subtly adjusted according to facial bone structure to refract eye-catching sparkle under soft lighting. Donning the Elf ear style similarly required meticulous skin-tone blending to ensure seamless integration from every angle.
Regarding the costume, the fabric of this white dress possesses an intense satin sheen. The voluminous puff sleeves and cascading tiers of pleats heavily tested the tailoring—any minor mishandling would have looked bulky. Therefore, I built invisible waist-cinching and structural supports inside beforehand, preserving the design's dramatic volume while sculpting the waistline. Long black gloves and a wide purple choker broke the monotony of pure white, which, combined with pearl necklaces and a purple-blue gemstone brooch on the chest, focused visual attention neatly around the collar area. To complement this outfit, I prepared a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath wrapped with silver bead chains. The flower stems were treated with hydration prep in advance to keep petals from wilting under the air conditioning.
The main keynote of this interior shoot was anchored in cool, classical gothic elegance. To recreate the deep, somber backdrop atmosphere, the set was styled with black geometric cutout window lattices and white translucent sheer drapes. The gaffer employed a multi-softbox lighting combination, adding a delicate pink-purple gel to the key light so the illumination echoed my hair color and makeup. During shooting, to align with the character's temperament, movements had to be subtle and refined. Facial expressions needed to remain somewhat detached, holding slightly tilted profiles and upward gazes—angles that effectively showcase the contour of the Elf ear style while making the collarbones and chest accessories stand out three-dimensionally under the light and shadow. The black gloves assisted in controlling hand postures while holding the bouquet, preventing rigidity and adding an air of dignified distance.
Cosplaying a fantasy-infused character with intricate attire hinges entirely on absolute command over details. From the natural fall of the wig to prop placement angles and makeup cleanliness, everything demanded repeated confirmation before cameras rolled. Theresa's allure lies in that complex temperament—outwardly noble and graceful, yet inwardly harboring deep resolve—so the visuals had to convey this emotional undercurrent through cool color palettes and layered lighting. We experimented with multiple compositions, and the final selected set struck a harmonious balance between fabric drapes, prop textures, and character presence. Though tedious throughout, seeing the texture of the finished images made every minute adjustment and preparation completely worthwhile.
