Slipping into this modified pink top and pulling the wide, detached flowing sleeves onto my arms, the character's unique atmosphere came to life instantly. The pink circular cross halo atop my head required clips and hairpins for anchoring; thankfully, today's braided pastel pink hair provided sturdy support, placing zero physical burden on my head during the shoot. For makeup, echoing the character's traits, I mainly adjusted the blending range of the eyeshadow and paired it with a matching lip color, giving my face a soft yet distinctly highlighted appearance before the camera in this Anime cosplay look.
The most distinctive aspect of this costume is the traditional Chinese red cord frog buttons across the chest and the detached wide sleeves on the arms. When striking poses, the white ruffled hems of the sleeves can drape naturally or be lifted to create dynamic movement, and since they aren't stitched directly to the shoulders, mobility is exceptionally flexible. The dominant soft pink combined with red-and-white accents creates a unified primary palette. To ground the visual weight, the lower half is styled in a Black tights outfit—this pink-and-black contrast looks wonderfully harmonious under the expo's outdoor natural light, keeping the styling grounded and well-balanced.
Today's outdoor location was situated right along the perimeter of the Firefly ACG Expo venue—an outdoor sofa lounge surrounded by lush greenery, with a plush white rug laid beneath the seating where sunlight filtered gently through the leaves. The photographer chose this spot specifically to bottle that lazy afternoon mood into the frame. As an extension of the cosplay persona, the red-packaged beverage and little pink box in hand served as great scene props. Slice-of-life props like these always help me get into character much faster—such as sitting on the rug holding the drink box with one hand, or leaning slightly sideways at the edge of the sofa, making each posture feel relaxed and natural.
During the shoot, to ensure the detached sleeves looked flattering from every angle, I had to continually adjust the relative positioning of my arms and shoulders. At times I raised the flowing sleeves to create an airy, floating aesthetic; other times I rested the sleeves along my sides so the upper body lines remained clearly defined. While physically demanding, watching the light cast delicate fold shadows across the fabric along with the sheen of the wig made it clear that the character fidelity in the frame was remarkably on point.
Ultimately, whenever portraying a skirt-and-stockings look, everyone pays close attention to overall proportions. Choosing seated or semi-reclined poses for this set highlighted the tailoring details of the top while fully preserving the leg contours in the Black tights outfit. Paired with the soft textures of the rug and sofa, the entire scene feels delightfully serene. As an on-site record during the expo, I'm thrilled that the costume and makeup details aligned so well, letting me embrace the ease and spontaneity this Blue Archive character brings. I hope to keep experimenting with vibrant, structurally playful costume designs in the future.
