The scene arranged for this shoot was quite complex; setting up the faceless white sculptures and the red cross in the background took quite some time. The black crushed stones on the ground were specifically selected with sharp edges to complement the scattered black metal frames, creating a destructive sense of collapsing ruins.
In terms of styling, trimming Asuka's wig took considerable time; the angles of the twin-tails required repeated adjustments to ensure full hair volume from the front and a natural curve from the side profile. The knotting of the red ribbon tie on the chest of the uniform is very particular, and the shirt collar had to be completely neat and clean. The white over-the-knee socks feature red stripes along the rim and required constant smoothing during the shoot to prevent wrinkles from distorting the leg contours, while the black leather shoes were kept spotless.
The most challenging aspect of the shoot was coordinating with the props. That red spear looked light, but in reality, it was much heavier than it appeared; holding the spear with one hand while maintaining the pose demanded significant core strength. To capture the pose leaning back against the folding chair, pointing my toes was essential to make the leg lines appear smooth and full of tension. This posture truly tested my stamina, requiring multiple adjustments to maintain balance while achieving an attractive visual impact.
Besides the red spear, the violin also added some difficulty to the shoot; holding the bow and instrument accurately required not only faithful posture recreation, but also creating a striking contrast with the cross in the background. For lighting design, we mainly utilized high-contrast lighting—the white background needed slight overexposure to keep the frame clean, while preserving color saturation for the red and yellow cross in the background. In post-processing, skin tones were tuned to look translucent, while taking care to preserve the fabric texture of the White tights cosplay, avoiding blown-out highlights under strong lighting.
Overall, the tailoring of this School uniform cosplay hugged the waistline nicely, and the pleated texture of the skirt was ideal for half-crouching or leg-raising poses. Paired with shifts in center of gravity—such as leaning back in the chair or kicking up legs—it effectively showcased the leg lines and overall structure of the outfit. By focusing on these refined details, the resulting oppressive presence and character aura were spot-on. The entire Anime-style photography journey was a remarkably fun experience.
