Today in this Zhengzhou classroom, I completed a campus-themed photoshoot for Furina. Compared to a plain studio shoot, the wooden desks, chalkboard, and natural light of a classroom environment lent an extra touch of everyday realism to the overall composition. Stepping into this blue and white ensemble, donning the gold-trimmed top hat and white wig, and holding a textbook while seated before the student desk instantly brought the character's distinct aura to life.

Collaborating with photographer @暖暮ovo, the shoot centered around the concept of preparing for class. From gazing at the globe beside the podium, to resting my chin on my palm at the desk, to looking down while leafing through books, every movement aimed to embody the character while blending harmoniously into the campus setting. The challenge of this costume lay in securing the hat and wig, along with the metallic garment accents that tended to snag on the fabric during movement. To capture the trailing locks and bow details in the back, we adjusted angles repeatedly between the desks and chairs. Though I have attended many anime conventions, shooting in a quiet classroom allowed me to focus much more deeply on fine-tuning my gaze and mindset, striving for effortless naturalism. As the light and shadow on the floor shifted over time, we worked quickly to capture shots under different lighting angles.

The globe and potted blossoms on the podium unexpectedly served as wonderful interactive props. Between flipping through pages at the desk, I also tried leaning the rapier beside the desk, enriching the narrative storytelling through varied object combinations. Preparing this look demanded significant time, especially perfecting the wig's layering and the tilt of the top hat, which required repeated checks across different focal lengths. Because the costume consists of numerous layers, weaving between the classroom desks required extra care to avoid knocking over props or disheveling the skirt folds. Facing the camera, calibrating seated postures required careful deliberation to balance the character's signature elegance, garment folds, and the shadow proportions cast across the legs.

To enrich the visual diversity of the photos, we also made use of the storage shelves at the back of the classroom and the air conditioner in the corner as background elements, experimenting with varied high-angle and low-angle perspectives. By adjusting the composition, the diagonal lines of the desks acted as visual leading lines, integrating the subject seamlessly into the space. The warm wooden tones of the classroom created a striking contrast against the blue and white palette of the outfit, allowing richer details to be preserved during post-color grading. Before shooting began, I spent ample time deconstructing the character's personality traits, contemplating how to blend her theatrical poise with a serene campus environment. While adjusting my posture, I paid close attention to the flow of fabric folds so my body language felt faithful to the lore. Between takes, we rearranged the books on the desk to leverage foreground blur for deeper compositional depth. Polishing all these nuances was done so the final imagery would withstand repeated viewing. Overall, this shoot in Zhengzhou went smoothly, offering fantastic synergy between the venue and character. I hope everyone enjoys this classroom portrayal of Furina in this Anime-style photography set, and I look forward to capturing more creative looks in intriguing locations next time.
