I felt quite satisfied with my Azusa makeup and styling from Blue Archive this time, and the shoot happened to coincide with an on-site Itasha event. The white sailor-collar uniform in the photos is the key element of this look—the cut of the shoulders and neckline, along with the crisp black-and-white color contrast accented by a gold neck ribbon, looks remarkably clean and sharp. To match the character's design, I prepared long, straight, light silver-white hair with carefully trimmed bangs to frame the face and prevent it from appearing too bulky on camera. I chose light purple contact lenses paired with a generous sweep of pink blush around the eyes, aiming to bring out the character's distinct aura and vibrant complexion.
A lot of thought went into the eye makeup: to prevent pink-purple eyeshadow from making the eyes look puffy, I added a dark purple eyeliner to ground the look, layered with natural individual cluster lashes to enlarge the eyes while maintaining clean makeup. For lips, I chose a peachy lip tint to keep my complexion bright and lively. Styling the wig was also crucial; to maintain a smooth, airy texture, I combed it through multiple times before heading out. Though flyaways were prone to happen, once set, the overall effect felt incredibly light and breezy.
The chibi big-headed plushie in my arms was definitely the ultimate secret weapon for today's shots. The doll's deadpan expression resonated perfectly with the character's slightly innocent, earnest personality; holding it made me feel completely immersed in her daily state. Holding it up in front of my chest or resting it against my shoulder nicely enriched the composition, looking both playful and natural.
The massive character display board in the background featured exquisite artwork that created a great foreground-background resonance. Combined with the bright, even indoor lighting of the hall, it achieved translucent skin and dimensional facial features even without auxiliary lights. The ambiance of this Itasha event was palpable, with themed decorations full of ACG culture, and everyone in attendance was wonderfully receptive to the subculture.
The joy of anime cosplay lies in discovering new nuances with every portrayal. For instance, maintaining this white uniform required paying attention to the crispness of the necktie and golden cuff emblems; thankfully, the final shots turned out satisfying. As an enthusiast who frequently attends offline events, I truly enjoy this process of bringing virtual characters into reality through costumes and props. Even though there was substantial foot traffic, whenever fellow fans instantly recognized the character and interacted enthusiastically, the happiness of cross-dimensional connection was irreplaceable.
To finish the makeup, I used an ultra-fine eyeliner pen to define the outer corners of the eyes, giving my gaze a sharper, more focused look in close-up portraits. Rather than sharp brows, I opted for soft straight brows to match her slightly innocent, bewildered expression. The overall color palette was dominated by white, light purple, and gold—clean, uncluttered, and conveying a crisp, capable aura. Every cosplay requires preparing countless tiny details: from wig styling and makeup techniques to tailoring adjustments on the costume. When all this prep work results in a photo set you truly love, it feels completely worthwhile. We didn't force overly complicated poses this time, focusing instead on a natural, casual daily vibe where effortless candid shots with the plush doll created great results. Given the chance in the future, I look forward to portraying this character across even more varied settings in this comic convention record.
