[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Japanese Style Attire Fitting & Detail Sharing

'This is mother's preferred style; Miyabi has never let her mother down.' The moment I first read that line, I was determined to bring Hoshimi Miyabi's attire to life with absolute care, so the second the costume arrived, I dove straight into a fitting session. The real-world craftsmanship of this Japanese style cosplay design from Zenless Zone Zero turned out far more intricate and refined than I had ever imagined.

The top begins with a white sleeveless high-neck inner layer draped with a wide-sleeved black haori, the inner cuffs richly patterned with golden leaf motifs. To project her balance of light grace and disciplined majesty, I carefully tidied the cold-shoulder silhouette to keep the neckline and shoulder contour impeccably smooth. At the waist, a wide black obi is adorned with a grand golden knot cord trailing two yellow tassels, which sway gently with each step, exuding high quality.

The lower black slit skirt is edged with gold piping throughout, paneled in front with white fabric stamped with brown floral patterns and her iconic four-petaled crest badge. Layering white undergarments with black platform heeled ankle boots elongated my overall body proportions considerably. Featuring translucent panels and gold metallic accents, these boots are visually stunning, yet definitely demand core balance to maintain stability while holding elegant yet commanding combat stances before the lens.

The plush black animal ears atop the crown and the tail behind serve as the soul of this Kemonomimi girl aesthetic. To anchor these large ears securely onto the wig while letting the tail drape naturally, I relied on several hidden bobby pins. Black straight hair paired with blunt bangs is accented on the left by white floral hair ornaments. The makeup utilized warm red-brown gradients paired with magenta-violet contact lenses, topped with a bold crimson lip that instantly elevated my aura against the dark garments.

The sword prop in hand is equally detailed: the hilt features a black-and-gray geometric build, blue components, and bandage-like wrappings, giving it substantial weight in hand. Complemented by the black scabbard at my hip, holding the blade in my left hand while raising my right in a delicate casting gesture with eyes gazing sideways instantly brought me into character. In post-production, floating ginkgo leaves and playful stickers were added to lend a touch of warmth to her otherwise cool, poised presence.

The shoot was conducted indoors, leveraging natural side-light pouring through the window to sculpt facial depth while making the golden trim glitter softly. For retouching, I avoided overbearing filters, focusing on lighting adjustments to preserve the tactile fabric weave and metallic sheen. The tailoring is remarkably flattering—sleek without bulkiness while retaining traditional breezy drape. Bringing a beloved character to life with such polish is pure joy, and I look forward to taking this outfit to outdoor conventions for even more dynamic shoots.
