[Sorasaki Hina cosplay] Blue Archive: The Head Prefect's Cool-Faced Everyday Life

With only a few days left until CP32, digging through older CPSP convention photos feels like truly rehashing old material. But warming up these archives of a Disciplinary Committee Head look I'm quite satisfied with serves as a great teaser for CP32 this weekend.

For this shoot, during early makeup planning, we discussed how to convey that poker-faced cute gap-moe charm on camera. Sorasaki Hina's design inherently carries a serious, unapproachable aura, yet her petite stature creates a striking contrast. The venue lighting that day was quite harsh with rows of overhead lamps; to suppress the dim industrial background, the lighting assistant literally ran around chasing me with flash strobes throughout the entire shoot.

I especially loved the costume's texture. The deep navy military uniform features a standing mandarin collar with meticulous gold trim along the neckline and cuffs. In particular, the gold waist chains and star insignia on both sides of the belt reflected sharp, crisp metallic highlights in this cool-toned setting. The coat's inner lining is white, and the thick black faux fur collar not only added visual layers but also proved to be an effective savior against the chilly air conditioning at the convention.

The wig and horn accessories were another highlight. Long, straight white hair can easily look artificial, but this wig was thinned and layered to give the ends a natural, airy lightness. The purple horns on top were made of rigid materials—a bit heavy, but well worth enduring for the sake of anime cosplay fidelity. Facial makeup embraced an anime-style treatment: extended eyeliner paired with blue contacts evoked that emotionally steady, deadpan expression of someone ready to draw her gun on duty at any moment.

For posing, we bypassed sweeping combat stances in favor of everyday standing postures. For instance, raising one leg turned outward or glancing back over the shoulder aimed to create a steady, commanding presence within static frames. Maintaining the expression was surprisingly tricky: keeping a cold, deadpan face while allowing a subtle undercurrent of cuteness to peek through my eyes almost felt like freezing my face.

The chosen setting for these photos was quite intriguing—a dim corner resembling an underground garage with occasional convention-goers passing by. This bustling background accentuated the visual focus of the costume, while cool lighting made my skin and hair appear exceptionally bright and clean.

Posting these CPSP photos now is probably because every convention leaves a bit of post-event withdrawal. While exhausting, walking around the venue in this outfit and being recognized by passersby or fellow fans is always a wonderful experience. That's all for now—time to double-check my gear for CP32!
