[Hu Tao cosplay] Kitty Cat in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Grabbing Both Pink Cuteness and Sweet Cool Vibes - Image 2

Completed this Kitty Cat-themed styling for Hu Tao in the pink setting of the studio. Originally, Hu Tao in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT has a lively personality with a quirky and agile charm, but this design combined with bows, lace, and cat elements adds a soft, fairy-tale-like cuteness to the character.

The first picture shows both hands raised like cat paws, which I think is one of the movements that best fits the Kitty theme. The slightly curved fingertips paired with white lace short gloves perfectly echo the imagery of cat paws. The second picture has both hands stacked in front of the chin, with a more reserved gaze, looking more well-behaved and quiet. These two movements actually have different requirements for light and shadow when capturing them; picture 1 emphasizes the dynamic movement of the waving hands and the layers of the skirt, while picture 2 focuses more on the soft transition of facial light and shadow and the focus of the gaze.

Regarding this costume, the pink-and-white primary color scheme is very eye-catching, especially the large light blue bow at the waist and the ruffles on the skirt hem which add a lot of volume. The red bow and white fluff on the hair accessories are also the finishing touches. To match this sweet style, the hairstyle was intentionally adjusted to slightly curly long straight black hair, blending subtly with the original character's hairstyle so that the overall visual effect doesn't look too out of place.

The studio setup this time was very clever. The pink cloth drapes in the background create a soft space, paired with a vintage pink telephone and a strawberry cake nearby, making the overall texture look very much like an afternoon tea scene in a mansion. The rose bouquet placed on the table and the surrounding Roman columns add a touch of retro elegance to this cute style. This actually provides a great idea for cosplay photography, as a purely cute style can easily look flat, but introducing some contrasting vintage or rigid-textured props will make the frame more narrative and layered.

Additionally, I'd like to chat about some details on the makeup. To make the makeup look clean and clear without seeming rigid, the eye makeup this time chose a rounded, elongated drawing technique, paired with lighter eyeshadow, mainly to make the eyes look more spirited. The blush was blended over a large area in the center of the cheeks, creating a natural healthy glow. Because the overall clothing color is highly saturated, a lighter pink shade was chosen for the lips to avoid overpowering the rest of the look.

During the shoot, the model's state also heavily determines the quality of the final photos, and it's important to quickly enter the character's zone inside the studio. It is highly necessary to fully familiarize oneself with the silhouette of the costume before posing, such as the fluffiness of the skirt hem and cuffs; an overly large range of motion will make the skirt look messy, while a range too small will look stiff. The movements caught in these two photos are, to some extent, the best physical expressions found after multiple NGs. Maintaining this sweet-but-not-cloying style is the core pursuit of this photoshoot.
