Some friends asked me why I chose this version before; actually, besides that highly recognizable large black hat with cat ears, the neat tailoring and dark-toned coordination of the entire costume perfectly matched the lazy and slightly sexy vibe I wanted for my indoor mirror selfies.
Let's start with the head styling. The hair features a grey-toned base spliced with a streak of cyan-blue highlights. After putting on that large black broad-brimmed hat decorated with golden textures and blue-and-white flowers, the overall facial contour was beautifully refined. When posing, I also paid attention not to let the edges crop into my body, ensuring that I remained in the visual center of the frame. To block my face and maintain a sense of mystery, I used my phone to cover more than half of my face, which is a very classic cosplay mirror selfie pose that prevents distraction while highlighting the unique features of this outfit.
Actually, compared to studio shoots, I prefer these cosplay photos shot in daily environments. It doesn't require overly complex lighting coordination; as long as you leverage the indoor natural light and spotlights, you can perfectly preserve the texture of the lace stockings, the subtle patterns of the silk fabric, and the feel of the plush shawl. For friends who want to pull off this type of attire well, I believe there's no need to deliberately look for exceptionally gorgeous scenes—a relatively clean, color-unified indoor space will instead make the character's styling the visual focus.
Putting this entire gear on my body this time, including adjusting the tightness of the suspenders and organizing the positions of the tassels, indeed took quite a lot of effort back and forth. After putting on the high heels, the arched curve of the instep blended perfectly with the snug fit of the stockings without any redundant wrinkles, making me feel that this Azur Lane Cheshire styling was well worth the effort.
