What will the snowman on Christmas Eve turn into? This question lingered in my mind the moment I decided to put together this styling. Since it is meant to be a Christmas surprise, blending the cozy warmth of the holiday with the character's iconic 2D imagery was essential. This time, stepping into the role of Hammann from Azur Lane, I presented a special look that integrates maid uniform elements with Christmas themes.

Starting with the fine details of the outfit, every element carries festive ritual. The red-and-white palette is a quintessential Christmas classic; plush white fur trims line the skirt hem and cuffs, echoing the crisp winter night while adding soft visual appeal. A black bow tie rests at the collar, anchored by a delicate golden bell that jingles softly with every turn. For layered visual depth, the lower half features signature over-the-knee White stockings paired with black Mary Jane flats, conveying a well-behaved yet subtly playful demeanor. The white wig is styled into voluminous twin tails alongside plush white cat ears, while the black bow on top is dotted with red-and-green Christmas berries to balance the visual focal point.

The studio set was thoughtfully curated to create a cozy, vintage winter study. The deep crimson velvet backdrop enriched skin tones and silver-white hair. The background featured a vintage wooden bookcase filled with foreign books, a brass gramophone, a retro white candelabra, a decorated Christmas tree in the corner, green gift boxes tied with red ribbons, and an adorable white knit teddy bear. Warm yellow fairy lights wrapped around the room, enveloping the photos in a comforting glow.

Throughout the shoot, I explored diverse poses to showcase the outfit's charm: lounging lazily on a vintage armchair draped in a knitted blanket with a giant candy cane staff, or delicately holding white snowflake props to evoke a fairytale illusion. My favorite shot—and the most physically demanding—was capturing a dynamic moment standing with one leg raised. This posture beautifully displayed the voluminous A-line flared skirt while highlighting the clean lines of the White stockings against the black Mary Janes. Another close-up leaning over the fireplace mantel brought the character closer to the lens.

Shooting plush-heavy Christmas cosplay requires good bodily fluidity to keep the fabrics flowing naturally. To capture Hammann's tsundere yet endearing nature on Christmas, I kept expressions soft and unforced, capturing slightly bewildered, gentle glances. The plush teddy bear served as a recurring prop, adding natural storytelling beyond rigid posing.
