For the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition in July, I've spent the past few days sorting out and post-processing the convention photos for Zhen Hai. We prepared this complete costume for quite a long time, starting right from choosing the fabric. To restore the texture of the official character illustration, the outer black dress selects a jacquard fabric with subtle patterns. Under the bright natural light of the exhibition hall, it can present delicate transitions of light and shadow without appearing rigid or dull. For the hairstyle, to simulate Zhen Hai's gentle yet heroic traits, the wig underwent a specific curvature trim. The coiled buns pinned up on both sides, adorned with small black flower accessories, echo the overall Republican era style. The props used are a black folding fan with a translucent blue pattern and a long ribbon streamer decorated with gold foil totems. During the shoot, the streamer needed to be swung out forcefully before dropping down naturally to achieve a visual balance in the frame. The shoes chosen were glossy black patent leather high heels, reflecting clear mirror images on the tiled floor, which complemented the character's overall cool color scheme beautifully.

When shooting the standing poses, my feet were slightly staggered front and back, leveraging the high slit design of the skirt hem to perfectly showcase the sharp lines of the legs. To match Zhen Hai's qualities of being both elegant and carrying a certain sense of distance, I also tried to suppress my smile when handling expressions, maintaining a calm and focused gaze. The location for this shoot was selected at the venue of the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition, where those massive French glass windows were absolutely the best lighting surfaces in the entire hall. No additional artificial light sources were used inside the pavilion; it relied purely on the natural diffuse reflection light shining through, preserving soft silhouettes at the highlights. Combined with the smooth marble floor, the reflected inversions gave the photos a powerful sense of spatial dimensionality.

The first photo chose a standing composition, primarily to exhibit the complete tailoring of the costume. The details at the connection between the shoulder tulle and the black gloves were preserved altogether, and the hand was frozen slightly raised, anchoring the character's calm and cool positioning while the long streamer fell vertically, making the composition relatively structured. The second low-angle shot was comparatively casual, allowing the visual center of gravity to shift downward. However, the convention was packed with people and the surrounding environment was quite cluttered. To eliminate redundant items and passersby from the frame, this Cosplay photography session adopted a prime lens with a large aperture to blur the background as much as possible, concentrating focus on the main character subject. Convention photos involve many uncontrollable factors, and sometimes a slight shift in angle creates a world of difference. This set of photos made full use of the on-site environment's characteristics, resulting in a highly complete output experience.
