This shooting session for the Bride cosplay custom design was divided into two dimensions: convention floor shots and a pre-planned studio session.

Regarding the initial concept of the styling, the core was to retain the character's iconic short hair and red eyes while shifting the overall visual atmosphere into a dreamy ice-blue bride aesthetic. Picking this Blue dress required considerable thought; the main fabrics chosen were shimmering organza and chiffon, forming layered wave effects through irregular draping. The drape of the skirt train truly tested the tailor's piecing craftsmanship. 3D fabric flowers across the chest and waist, along with scattered pearl strands, were crucial key elements to elevate the overall grandeur.

For makeup, to complement the cool, detached nature of this Custom design cosplay, the base makeup was given a matte finish. Rather than over-emphasizing contours, the eye makeup highlighted her red eyes through clean tightlining and well-defined eyelashes. Combined with an ice-blue short wig trimmed rounded with a touch of intentional messiness, the overall color contrast turned out exceptionally vivid.

The first set consists of on-site convention photos. A gown of this volume is actually quite inconvenient at conventions; constantly lifting the weight to keep the train from trailing on the floor and getting dirty requires significant physical stamina. On-site lighting is complex, mixing softboxes, ceiling lights, and ambient lights, relying heavily on the photographer's speedlights and candid timing. With passersby and other booth equipment in the background, maintaining composure in front of the lens while avoiding distracting background elements was essential.

The second set features the pre-planned studio session. Stripping away the chaos of conventions, the set design utilized dark stone flooring paired with cool-toned blue flora. We added a soft-focus filter in front of the lens to soften harsh shadows and gently blur facial contours. Reclining with hands spread wide allowed the entire dress to bloom around like a flower, with blue butterfly props sprinkled throughout to give the frame dynamic rhythm and elegance in these Cosplay photos.

Though taken in completely different shooting environments, these two photo sets capture two emotional states of this Bride cosplay custom design: convention floor shots convey a gritty "battle mode" realism, while studio shots lean into the serene aesthetic of artistic creation. From wig styling and detailed makeup to fitting adjustments, the entire look took over four hours to achieve the ideal on-camera result.

Cosplaying such intricate outfits is always a process of adaptation—managing movement limitations with large ballgowns alongside the challenge of slipping into character amidst noisy crowds. Yet seeing the final Cosplay photos produced across different settings makes every layer of detailed effort deeply satisfying. Sharing these shooting snippets serves as a time capsule for this Custom design cosplay, recording the state, palette, and collaborative journey of Rei Ayanami cosplay.
