The material of this Black Suit Rei bodysuit is truly the most demanding on body proportions and fidelity among all the characters I've ever cosplayed. With its intense patent leather sheen, highlights flow along the body contours under the convention hall's various overhead lights and spotlights, which is why we deliberately chose this dim lighting environment for the shoot. Initially, seeing how harsh the ambient light was at the venue, I worried it would look overly rigid; however, under the photographer's adjustments, the final result actually accentuated that cold, oppressive, yet tense atmosphere.

The biggest challenge during the shoot was actually that massive scythe. The scythe itself is very heavy, and taking Convention photos usually involves dealing with constant crowds passing by; after a while, my arms grew sore, making muscle control during posing an intense test. For instance, in the seated shot, my body's center of gravity had to rest entirely on the leg and chair support points while keeping the upper body upright—just adjusting the angle of my crossed long legs took numerous attempts. Although exhausting, seeing the red and blue chromatic ghosting effects paired with these poses made everything feel completely worthwhile. Because the convention was crowded, many shots had to rely on close-up framing to dodge passersby in the frame, which surprisingly brought many unexpected delights.

I intentionally shot various angles of both sides of my face; while I personally usually feel my left side is more photogenic, I tested all sorts of tilt angles this time to gather more material. I love this visual style infused with sci-fi and stark grit, which resonates so well with the character's unsmiling, stoic disposition. The latex suit's snug fit clearly delineates bodily curves, placing high demands on everyday figure maintenance and toning, so I strictly controlled my diet and intensified workouts leading up to the convention.

In terms of details, the silvery-short hair paired with the black interface headsets on both sides and red pupils immediately brings out that detached aloofness. The red and green contrasting accents on the chest and legs are also intriguing, breaking the monotony of pure black and adding distinct visual focal points. In an indoor setting with such a complex interplay of warm and cool lighting, being able to blend the bodysuit's sheen, the background bokeh, and the weapon's red warning aura so harmoniously warrants special thanks to Lao Suda for framing and post-processing. We took well over a hundred shots back then; the light streaks in some outtakes actually had a distinct cyberpunk feel, and the final selections truly captured my most authentic perspective and state at that moment.

Convention photos mean every shutter click freezes the live on-site atmosphere. Fortunately, the character's persona allowed me to maintain a quiet, taciturn state, pairing a stern expression with powerful, dynamic poses. Walking around the hall in this full gear naturally drew plenty of eyes, yet being thoroughly immersed in character helped me tune out outside gazes. Overall, this convention shoot went exceptionally smoothly—from costume fit and prop precision to lighting design and angle capture, everything reached my ideal perfection, serving as the ultimate presentation for this gear.
