In the constructed indoor studio scene, thick white sand is spread out as the ground scenery, but there is still a difference from the real beach experience—the sea breeze, humidity, and the actual tactile sensation underfoot cannot be fully restored by a studio shoot. However, this also gave us more opportunities to control the light and composition. The core of this styling lies in the black-and-white color blocking. The length setting of the silver-white hair strands can beautifully frame the face shape, paired with black horns and petal embellishments on the ear accessories, plus the black split-type lace-up swimsuit and highly translucent sheer mesh skirt hem, the overall visual presents a very clear contrast of light and dark. The bowknots and hollowed-out edges on the clothing are handled very delicately, allowing the garment's built-in breathability to show through even without making major movements when posing.

In the application of props, I selected a blue-and-white folding lounge chair and a small round table. A plate of red grapes was placed on the round table, and a cut sweet melon and that yellow spiky fruit prop were placed in the wooden frame beside it. These warm-toned fruits and vegetables added rich color layers to the dark-colored clothing. During the shoot, a transparent swim ring was specially added to rest both feet on, which instantly brought out the coolness of the summer beach. In terms of lighting, I prefer a shadowless high-key bright light, which almost eliminated redundant shadows, making the entire frame translucent, white, and clear. This lighting method, combined with the elf ears and horn elements, can present a clean and authentic figure image while preserving the character's fantasy feel.

Looking back at the finalized shots, my absolute favorite is the one where I'm holding the ice cream dessert, slightly tilting my head toward the lens to draw close. The pink ice cream base and bright red cherry form a very nice color complement with the silver hair and red eyes setting. A simple cup-raising movement can fill the frame with a sense of interaction and vitality. For shooting this kind of summer special edition theme, the reasonable distribution of props is key. Although some large and small props in the background did not fully appear in the viewfinder, they effectively enriched the overall atmosphere.

Besides costume, makeup, and props, capturing the character's expression is also highly important. Mudrock's setting gives a feeling of being powerful yet introverted, stable, and mature. However, the summer swimsuit look naturally brings out a casual contrast charm, so I tried to showcase a relaxed yet focused expression in front of the lens, preventing the performance marks from being too heavy, purely transmitting emotions through the gaze watching the lens. In terms of makeup details, a bright wine-red colored contact lens was intentionally selected, paired with elegant, clear, and translucent eye makeup, making the gaze look more translucent while beautifully echoing the red pupil setting rather than being overly heavy. The trimming of the wig made minor adjustments to the bangs and sideburns based on the face shape, letting the hair strands frame the jawline when falling naturally, preventing the look from becoming top-heavy.

In a controllable environment like a studio shoot, the problem most likely to occur is actually rigid movements and a lack of outdoor natural spontaneity. Therefore, during the shooting process, I needed to repeatedly adjust my sitting posture and angles to simulate a relaxed state by the beach—for example, crossing my legs while leaning against the chair back, or sequentially slipping my feet into the swim ring, or slightly turning sideways to prop my chin up with one hand. These movements look casual, but to be natural and stretched, early on required repeatedly finding the right coordination between the camera position and limbs. In the final effects presented, the sheer mesh skirt hem can form a flowing sense of airiness when moving or being blown by the wind. This lightness, merged together with the steadiness brought by the black clothing, is precisely the temperament characteristic that these finalized cosplay photos want to convey.
