This afternoon, I set up a simple photography area indoors and tried on this blue-and-white magical girl Reimu Hakurei Cosplay outfit. Lighting hitting up from the bottom added a very special texture to the skirt hem and white lace trims, while the dark background highlighted the clothing's layers and details. Holding the magic wand and spell cards during fitting felt quite immersive in this Fitting room setting. Honestly though, the lace and ruffles on this dress were heavier than expected; the skirt hem easily drags on the floor when walking, so I had to pay attention to my stance while taking photos. White socks paired with black leather shoes is a classic combination, and I'm quite satisfied with the overall result. Even though it's just a fitting stage, these photos already showcase the expressive power of this Cosplay outfit under lights. The blue satin spliced with white lace, along with headpieces and props—Reimu Hakurei in Touhou Project herself has many different styling interpretations. This time I tried a slightly more ornate Blue and white Lolita style, preserving the original color palette while increasing the puffiness and layering of the skirt. During shooting, combining handheld fill light with ambient light deliberately created vignetting and rim lighting to make the clothing silhouette sharper. The ribbons on the magic wand and patterns on the spell cards were well restored; although my face is covered, the overall look recognizability shouldn't be a problem. If given a chance for an outdoor shoot, the blowing wind making ribbons and skirt sway would look even better.
