[Kochiya Sanae Cosplay] Touhou Project Shrine Maiden Duo: An Afternoon Anime style studio photoshoot Transformation Log

This Touhou Project shrine maiden group session was a personal challenge to complete two completely different facial transformations in a single afternoon. As I worked, I wondered whether my makeup skills had genuinely improved or if the puffiness in my face had simply subsided by the afternoon. I first finished the styling with long green hair and blue contact lenses for Kochiya Sanae Cosplay, posing under the cherry blossom tree with my head tilted back and arms extended. Afterwards, I switched to black hair with a red-and-white ribbon for Reimu Hakurei Cosplay, capturing an entirely different aura against the backdrop of autumn maple leaves and lanterns. Because I had to execute two styling setups with distinct temperaments back-to-back, I specifically tweaked the ratio of highlights and contouring: the red-and-black look featured bolder eye makeup paired with red eyeliner, while the blue-green look went for a lighter, more translucent base makeup. The outfits featured numerous layers of lace and tulle that took considerable time to arrange; thankfully, the studio was spacious and even, giving me the freedom to twirl, jump, and fully let loose during dynamic action shots. More importantly, huge thanks to Brother Shuizi for acting as a lighting stand-in, which also resulted in that beautiful behind-the-scenes shot in the slanted sunset light. Having him step into position in front of the lens allowed the photographer to dial in the lighting much faster and more accurately, ensuring smooth Cosplay photography. After a whole afternoon of high-intensity shooting, my body was exhausted, but reviewing the raw shots in the camera made every bit of effort feel worthwhile. The dramatic emotional contrast between the two character portrayals made this photoshoot exceptionally challenging and fulfilling.
