[Remilia cosplay] Touhou Project Convention Photos: The Lady's Red Apple

Sharing a set of convention photos taken at the anime expo. This time I chose Remilia's classic red-and-white lace Gothic dress paired with her iconic light blue wavy hair.

The details of this outfit are incredibly rich, especially the pearl beads and lace edging on the headpiece, along with extensive ruffles and sheer tulle at the skirt hem, giving a heavy, gorgeous feel when worn. Although the black bat wings on the back instantly highlight the character's identity visually, walking around the exhibition hall requires finding a good center of gravity to prevent wings from swaying and disrupting posture. As for props, I specially prepared a red apple to match the Lady's setting, serving as an interactive prop during the shoot so my hands could naturally find where to rest.

The shooting environment suited this look remarkably well, with grid-patterned circular background lights creating wonderful bokeh effects. The photographer experimented with different lighting techniques: one bright frontal full-body shot fully showcasing the dress and red-and-white color scheme; another with intense backlighting where light filtered through the lace skirt to create highlights along my legs, where contrast of shadows added storytelling and a mysterious vibe; and a close-up highlighting my face and the red apple in hand, which, paired with reddish-brown contact lenses and red eye makeup, brought out a dark fairy-tale aura.

Matching White stockings was also a key highlight of this look. Over-the-knee White stockings with garter belt details paired with bright red cross-strap high heels not only echoed the red elements of the outfit in color, but also visually lengthened leg lines to make movements appear lighter. It attracted a lot of attention from photographers at the convention, with everyone interested in the texture of this red-and-white dress.

Touhou Project's fanon doujin culture is immensely rich. Many designs retain core character recognizability from original works while experimenting with new costume fabrics and details. I also added some personal understanding into the makeup and styling, such as adjusting eyeliner intensity and lip color depth, striving to retain personal style while restoring the character. Natural movement was heavily emphasized while taking this photoset—standing postures and skirt-lifting poses required controlled force to avoid rigid stances ruining her aloof yet subtly playful charm.

This convention photoset didn't undergo complex post-processing, preserving raw light-and-shadow ambiance and authentic fabric texture as much as possible, hoping everyone can feel the vivid tension of Touhou cosplay at the convention site.
