This shoot was primarily aimed at presenting a Reimu Hakurei Cosplay image that leans toward daily life while carrying a touch of fantasy against a night cherry blossom backdrop. Because it involves Touhou Project fanon elements, the styling did not fully restore the traditional shrine maiden outfit, but instead incorporated Wa-lolita style designs, making the overall look more exquisite and suitable for this nighttime outdoor setting.

First, regarding makeup, styling, and hair: this time I adopted a twintail hairstyle, paired with red hair accessories and lace ribbons, making the hair look fluffy and layered. Because it was a nighttime shoot, the photographer used strong frontal fill lighting, so base makeup was kept clean and matte to avoid glare, while eye contours were deepened to maintain facial three-dimensionality under intense light. Although this lighting method makes facial features clear, it also means details on the face are magnified, requiring more careful preparation before camera time.

The design of this costume is very interesting. Red and white is Reimu's classic color scheme, but the layers of this top and skirt hem are remarkably rich, featuring extensive lace trim and delicate embroidery decorations on the chest, along with just the right collar pleating. The most eye-catching part remains that pair of wide sleeves, whose length almost reaches the skirt hem, edged with a thick ring of lace and red piping lines for a strong drape. When holding props or opening arms, the sleeve hems fall naturally into graceful arcs, making for fantastic photos.

The red tie design at the waist is a highlight of the outfit, visually cinching the waistline to create a corset-like effect that makes the upper body look more three-dimensional. The skirt hem employs multi-tiered layering: the outermost layer is a dark red jacquard fabric with a subtle luster, while inner layers feature a very fluffy white ruffled petticoat and lace edging. This material contrast allows the skirt to render rich textures and layers under the light.

Additionally, pairing with white lace short socks and black thick-heeled Mary Jane shoes was a clever touch. This combination retains Reimu's original charm while adding a sweet, maidenly, everyday feel to the overall look without being overly dull in this White tights cosplay aesthetic. Especially when walking or lifting a leg, the white short socks and leg lines appear visually slender, forming a wonderful balance with the elaborate dress.

The shooting scene that day was chosen exceptionally well during peak night cherry blossom bloom. The photographer used high-power strobes to illuminate the entire tree of white cherry blossoms; set against the pitch-black night background, the flowers looked extraordinarily pure and dazzling as if glowing on their own, creating a dreamy atmosphere for Night cherry blossom photography. We mainly utilized black stone steps and a nearby pink platform for framing. Shooting on the black steps, we experimented with standing and sitting poses—lifting one leg or gathering the skirt hem while sitting, paired with waving props to give the composition dynamic beauty. The geometric lines of the pink platform served as a visual frame, wrapping the subject in the center alongside dense flower branches behind, creating strong depth.

Though strong lights were present, being outdoors meant night winds were somewhat strong, causing red and white ribbons attached to props to flutter unpredictably—which unexpectedly added natural motion to the composition. During filming, special attention was needed to track ribbon trajectories or wait for a gust of wind to capture the best instant. Throughout this process, achieving peak condition required constant posture adjustments, where managing the skirt hem and wide sleeves became part of the fun.

Overall, this combination of night cherry blossoms and Reimu Hakurei Cosplay was a very complete Touhou Project fanon cosplay experience. It retained traditional character recognizability while crafting our own unique style in costume, light, and shadow. Showcasing another facet of this character beneath cherry blossom trees felt exceptionally fitting for Gensokyo's sense of mystery and beauty.
