The Honkai: Star Rail Ruan Mei 'Snow Blooming on Plum Paper' feature photos are finally here for everyone to see. To present the best possible effect, a lot of thought went into the costumes and props during the preparation stage. The costume uses cyan-blue and white as its main tones, combining traditional cheongsam tailoring with modern design. The Chinese knot buttons at the neckline and the green gemstone accessory on the chest were all carefully selected. The three-dimensional floral embroidery on the clothes has a great texture under the lighting, perfectly matching the theme of 'Snow Blooming on Plum Paper'. For the wig, aside from the black hair, turquoise highlights were specially added, paired with various delicate floral hair accessories to enhance an ethereal vibe.
The shooting scene was decorated with Chinese-style carved wooden railings, a huge full moon lightbox, as well as pink-and-white cherry blossoms and red maple leaves, creating a classical fantasy night scene atmosphere. To match the setting of observing vitality, I incorporated many poses playing with the pipa and round fan into the action design. This pipa prop is truly heavy, but the black-cyan-gold color scheme and exquisite patterns on the instrument body photograph exceptionally well.
In terms of makeup, the eye makeup used turquoise contact lenses paired with reddish eyeshadow blending, hoping to showcase a gentle yet slightly aloof temperament. This time I tried many angles in front of the lens, such as lying sideways or crossing legs, not only to showcase the tailoring of this outfit but also to highlight body lines. I specially paired it with pearl leg rings and white stockings featuring lace edging to increase the sense of detail. The shooting day was actually quite tiring, as I had to maintain an elegant posture all the time while also managing how to hold the instrument, but seeing the final photos made it all worthwhile. I hope everyone likes this heartfelt cosplay work.
