This Cosplay photography session in collaboration with photographer Shilin Wuhe took place near a night light exhibition. To faithfully recreate Rem's iconic blue hair and Maid outfit, I spent a lot of time adjusting the layers and bang curve of the wig, along with the detail of the pink hairpin, and I was quite satisfied with the result. For the costume, I chose a black-and-white lace maid dress paired with White stockings and buckled Mary Jane shoes, which gave off great texture under the ambient lights. During the shoot, Master Shilin guided me through several different poses. Photo 1 is a half-body shot reaching out toward the glowing stars in the background, focusing on facial expressions and eye contact; Photo 2 is a relaxed pose leaning gently on the railing looking down, capturing a quiet and gentle side; Photo 3 is a full-body standing shot, which is also one of my personal favorites—with centered positioning and complete framing, it beautifully showcases the pairing with the White stockings and the overall proportions of the outfit. To accentuate the leg lines and the layered aesthetic of the whole look, lighting control during the shoot was crucial; paired with the large-aperture bokeh effect of the starry light installations in the background, it created fantastic depth of field. Regarding posing details, I think cosplayers need plenty of mirror practice—for example, the slight side-leg stance in Photo 3 elongates lines and creates a more upright posture. Although the schedule was tight, the success rate of good shots was very high, and carefully studying the fabric folds and lighting angles for this outfit made it a truly enjoyable Cosplay photography challenge.
