The convention photos from BW 2026 Shanghai Anime Convention have been sorted out. This time, a total of six different styles of cosplay outfits were shot on-site at the exhibition. Considering the complexity of the lighting and the foot traffic at the convention venue, this shoot mainly focused on capturing ambient light and presenting the textures of the clothing materials.
The first look mainly features short pinkish-white hair paired with plush ball hair accessories. The costume adopts a black-and-white ruffled design, with a huge red bow on the chest serving as the visual focus. The collar section of this outfit uses a stiff fabric to maintain the three-dimensional shape of the neckline. The overall makeup pursues a natural and translucent texture, supplemented by a light-toned glimmer.
The second set features long straight light purplish-blue hair paired with horn accessories, with a white wreath on top of the head neutralizing the sharpness of the horns. Long white gloves paired with a blue-and-white patched main dress give the overall look a more layered feel. During on-site shooting, the model needed to showcase a lively and dynamic posture by raising a hand to touch the horns, which places high demands on the movements of the arms and shoulders, and also requires the wig to have good resilience when tilting the head down.
The third style is quite intense, featuring dark green short hair with a white lace veil, presenting an overall look that combines dark Gothic with techwear aesthetics. This costume has the most complex materials and structure, integrating black leather, metallic trim, and large areas of black-and-white lace cutouts. Wearing such a tight-fitting, multi-material outfit at the exhibition venue actually makes it very easy to feel stuffy and sweat because the breathability of the clothing is relatively limited, and a more stable grasp of posture and core strength is required when taking photos.
The fourth set was shot under the lights of the main stage, featuring long wavy pale gold hair paired with a pointed, radiating golden crown. Holding a microphone, the body is adorned with golden metallic leaf decorations, and there is a red totem tattoo on the arm. The stage lighting tone leans cool, making the golden elements stand out brightly against the blue background. The accessories for this look are relatively intricate, sharing a high level of harmony with the on-site atmosphere of the stage.
The fifth set goes down a fresh, ethereal route. Featuring long straight light purple hair and a white long dress with a stand-up collar, it is adorned with black and red strap decorations as well as metallic star pendants. The detached puffy oversleeves make the entire dress appear more flowing, and the lace hem adds a touch of softness. The swaying range of the long hair when walking also needed to be deliberately controlled to avoid losing its shape.
The sixth set is a completely different, high-contrast refreshing summer breeze style. Short grayish-white hair is paired with a straw hat featuring a blue ribbon. The upper body is a blue halter bikini with a white star pattern, paired with ripped denim shorts. The yellow flowers on the wrist and the starfish accessories on the arm add to the lively holiday vibe. Compared to heavy props and gear, this style is much more relaxing to shoot, but special attention must be paid to wardrobe malfunction protection when the exhibition hall has heavy foot traffic.
This time, the foot traffic at the BW 2026 Shanghai exhibition venue was massive, and the scale of the halls was very vast. The shooting schedule was packed tightly, and rushing through different booths and areas indeed consumed a great deal of physical energy. Given the complex environment on-site, completing makeup setting and wig styling in advance were essential preparation tasks. Fortunately, the photographer was very attentive with light processing, preserving the inherent textures of the costumes and the three-dimensional facial features of the characters, aiming to truly recreate the joyful atmosphere of this convention venue. This share is mainly to record the collision of different materials and the combination of the on-site atmosphere, with each set offering its own unique visual experience through Anime-style photography.
