Diving straight into it: this is C.C.'s Chessboard Banquet styling from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, created for the 'Apologizing for Everything' theme shoot. The day before shooting, I was still fretting over the wig—getting long green hair to look both airy and cleanly layered required extensive curling and styling. For makeup, the primary focus was on the eyes, pairing suitable golden colored contacts with false eyelashes and precise eyeliner to recreate her mysterious, haughty gaze. Because C.C. is inherently aloof and cool, facial expressions were kept restrained, prioritizing movement around the chessboard setup. The deep-blue dress with golden trim looked stunning on camera. The gold-threaded embroidery across the chest took real effort to put on, yet dramatically enhanced the gown's opulent flair. The neck choker and intricate details were all assembled; while only a photoshoot, capturing the overarching atmosphere was paramount.

The environment harmonized with the banquet's luxurious yet chilling tension. During the shoot, I reflected deeply on her psychological state in this scene: portraying that omniscient yet languid and distant composure was challenging. Through these photos, I aimed to convey her detached, enigmatic aura and serene posture outside the game of chess. This balance of opulence and restraint truly tests on-camera performance. The navy fabric caught the studio lights beautifully beside crystal chandeliers, casting soft illumination across the face. Maintaining flawless posture without wrinkling the delicate fabric was demanding, but the raw preview shots made all the effort worthwhile.

Beyond visual accuracy, capturing layered emotion was essential. The specialized eyeliner and blended eyeshadow added profound depth to the eyes. Poses were referenced directly from the original anime, evoking her presence as a master strategist surveying the chessboard—not as an ordinary player, but as an observant bystander shrouded in untouchable detachment. In prep, I tested these golden-brown contact lenses with prominent upper and lower lashes to emulate the 2D art style, keeping the pale green wig light without stiff hairspray. The form-fitting cut demanded careful posing to balance elegance and comfort, while clean base makeup highlighted her cool, porcelain skin. Framing the somber 'apology' theme gave the photos a weighty sense of destiny, fulfilling my vision completely.
