[C.C. cosplay] Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, the Green-Haired Queen in the Dark Night

Stepping into the dimly lit bar and transforming into that green-haired queen, this black and gold gown perfectly recreates C.C.'s lazy yet mysterious aura. To present that masterfully elegant aura from the original series, the photographer, Yongzhe, and I repeatedly confirmed the lighting direction during the pre-shoot phase. Utilizing the dark environment of the venue and complementing it with the light source from the wine cabinet behind, we made the golden patterns create a flowing reflection on the black satin.

The metal collar and the velvet long gloves enhanced the character's haughty nature, while the chips scattered all over the floor and the lazy reclining posture at the bar counter were a slight attempt to materialize her "indifferent to worldly affairs" personality from the show. Managing the lighting and the wig was a massive undertaking; the bangs of this lime-green long wig were specially customized today to ensure it looked accurate without feeling too heavy, and a lot of effort went into sorting out the layering of the hair strands.

I discussed with Yongzhe on how to use wide-angle lenses and vertical compositions to convey the character's composure. Especially for the reclining shot at the bar counter, I almost kicked over a wine bottle while adjusting my angle—a true on-set anecdote! The overall pace of the shoot was very fast, and the light and shadow in the final photos perfectly captured the character's subtle facial expressions, with every gaze striving to align with that worldly-wise nonchalance. As an attempt, I feel the overall styling and texture successfully grasped the character's presence and costume settings of this 2D goddess. I hope to bring everyone a visual experience with a great level of accuracy for this Bar counter portrait session.
