I actually started conceptualizing the presentation for this C.C. cosplay setup a long time ago. When photographer @ShiWang and I were discussing the shoot's theme, we happened to talk about the line mentioned in the caption, "Because it forgot the color it once was." This entry point perfectly summarized the character's extraordinary sense of time across endless space-time. So we decided to place the scene in front of a swing set with a strong Gothic style cosplay vibe, attempting to contrast the costume's grandeur against the blood-red and desolate environment to build a compelling Dark atmosphere.

This dark blue gown underwent several rounds of revisions during sampling and fabric selection. The fabric itself carries a heavy drape, giving it a deep, rich texture under dim light. The gold trim on the chest uses a high-reflection material, creating a striking warm-cool contrast with the deep blue base. The waist and abdomen feature a front-and-back detached cutout design (a tailored Midriff-baring gown), which presented a huge challenge during prep; I needed to keep my core tight and back straight to naturally display the gown's silhouette on camera. The side gold chains and chest rhinestone decorations required careful angle management to prevent messy chain reflections. Fortunately, the photographer's lighting was very even, preserving both the metallic textures and the silk satin sheen of the dress in the final shots.

I also gave careful thought to accessories. The teardrop choker around the neck and independent arm sleeves were paired based on the character's cool demeanor. The elbows of the sleeves were thickened to prevent wrinkling after repeated posing. The dark pointed-toe low heels on my feet didn't steal focus from the gown, but the star-shaped accents on the vamp added a touch of nimble detail, keeping the lower body from looking too heavy in full-body shots.

For hair and makeup, I purposely avoided overly vivid colors, focusing on emphasizing a cool-white skin texture. Eye makeup used slender, gentle eyeliner to define the eyes without heavy contouring, staying true to her aloof, slightly discerning gaze. The lip color was a muted, dark rose, giving an overall demeanor reflecting the weight of centuries. The wig was a soft, luminous mint green; under light, the edges of the hair strands created a soft-focus glow, enhancing the surreal atmosphere while weaving a harmonious three-color palette with the deep blue gown and dark red background.

Ambient light on shoot day was dim, and the swing was suspended by heavy iron chains. We arranged artificial red silk cords and dark red rose bouquets among the iron chains and black vines surrounding the swing. This abundance of red served as a visual guide, breaking the gloom of the dark background while creating a dangerous, oppressive, yet romantic Dark atmosphere. In composition, red cords served as foreground obstructions or background extensions, adding depth and emotional tension to the flat photographs.

In the first photo, I assumed a posture with legs crossed, leaning half against the swing's iron chain. This angle beautifully displayed the gown's draped hem and midriff cutout details, while my extended legs formed a stable triangular composition in the center. Because of the swing's instability, keeping still required core and leg muscles to stabilize my center of gravity, resulting in sleek, powerful lines. The necklace, waist chains, and shoe details were all captured neatly within the frame, emanating a serene composure.

The second photo attempted a bit of interaction: I reached out toward a dangling red cord in front, leaning slightly forward as the camera captured the cord entwining around my fingertips. Breaking the static pose brought living energy to the scene, echoing the fleeting sensation of "forgetting colors"—trying to hold onto something yet grasping at thin air. The third photo shows me seated on the swing, turning slightly with a hand resting above my brow bone. A vibrant red rose was placed on the adjacent seat; the black background and red flower created stark contrast, evoking a storybook feel like gazing into the distance or lost in deep reflection.

Looking back at the shoot, my biggest takeaway was learning to stretch gracefully within the cramped swing setting. Despite the cutout and short skirt design, maintaining elegant posture required total body control. Seeing the final photos, that cool, distant, yet mysterious and fateful aura matched my vision perfectly. This outfit combined with the photographer's mastery over dark tones yielded results far beyond expectations, serving as a satisfying culmination of my preparations.
