This styling for Cheshire centered primarily around a blue-and-white color palette. The wig was carefully trimmed into a bob with blunt bangs, accented by turquoise streaks along the inner layers and tips. To channel the character's feline playfulness, I wore blue contact lenses paired with prominent pink blush, blending soft blue eyeshadow to deepen my gaze. The garment details are exceptionally rich: the bodice features a blue lace corset with white crisscross lacing up the front, accented by pearl strands and sapphire pendants across the bust, while off-the-shoulder puff sleeves define the neckline and shoulders. The skirt is constructed from multi-tiered semi-sheer tulle; an asymmetrical silhouette paired with navy crinoline straps adds wonderful dynamic layers as I move. On my feet, white rhinestone stiletto sandals with pearl ankle wraps lend extra refinement.

Our gear for the shoot was a Sony A7M3 paired with a 24-70mm GM II lens—a setup delightfully versatile for indoor studio work. The 24mm wide end easily captured the background Roman pillars and stained glass windows, while the 70mm focal length snapped crisp, expressive close-ups. The set resembled a cathedral, dressed with blue-and-white floral arrangements over a blue carpet for unified color harmony. When posing, I took deliberate care to accentuate alluring charm while maintaining high-end elegance. For seated shots, I kept my back straight and crossed my legs to elongate my lines, cradling the yellow bird plushie against my chest or reaching a hand forward while looking straight into the lens to enhance viewer connection. For standing frames, I posed with an exaggerated wide-brimmed hat and parasol, turning in three-quarter profile to flatter bodily contours.

Indeed, when 2D steps into reality, extensive prep is required behind the scenes—from textile texture and wig styling to prop coordination, all the way to refining gaze and posture before the lens. Given the costume's exposed skin, the photographer and I continually calibrated lighting positions and poses to celebrate feminine curves with poise without drifting into vulgarity. Cheshire naturally embodies a coquettish, endearing allure; for facial expressions, I alternated between innocent gazes and subtle smiles, which, together with the turquoise-highlighted locks, truly felt like breaking through the fourth wall. Reviewing the shots on the camera monitor as blue light cascaded over lace and sheer tulle, every hour of trimming and makeup trials felt completely worthwhile. Every shoot is a dialogue with the character—transforming flat illustrations into three-dimensional presence is precisely what makes cosplay so captivating.
